I am an international student studying computer engineering in Tacoma community college, and I have been studying English for almost a year. The experience of learning the subject had exposed to a series of rigorous learning exercises. The English language has become global and learning it as a second language is essential as a tool for communication, trade and international exchange. Since I did not have knowledge about the English language before it has been a challenge in learning the language, this is because I had to start from radix.

By providing comments on this particular essay, I was able to criticize it from a personal point of view since this was also my experience. This feedback improved my understanding of the sentence structure and the correct use of various parts of the sentence such as prepositions, adverbs and adjectives. It also improved my pronunciation of the words since I would read them aloud when I was alone. The essays, subsequently, provided a platform for the students to group and discuss. Because of this, out lecturer engaged us in numerous exercises, writing for English 101 class. The fundamental notion behind this exercise involved introducing us to the forums where we could reflect on the written text and draw their relations to the real-life situation. Most of the English language made no sense to me even after I corrected my mistakes. The change was a culture shock since I had already been used with the Arabic way of writing and reading and any other way seemed illogical for me.
