In the past people in the United States didn’t have internet. Today however, online shopping is expanding in the world such as Amazon, eBay, Forever21, and Walmart. There is a lot of history of online shopping. There are many reasons why this change has occurred, but this essay will also outline what causes people to spend more money shopping online. For example, a college student could get a credit card with no job, no verifiable income, no credit history, and even with a co-signer. So pretty much back in the day anybody could apply for a free credit card. All the students that got free credit cards years ago are now very much in credit debt. Today the recent changes to credit card laws now require credit card companies to verify a student’s income before giving them a credit card. Some credit card companies say you can get a free credit card, but don’t say you have to pay it back. Credit cards are not free to the public no more sense the law has changed. Nowadays many people still get credit cards, because it helps young adults get a credit score. Advertising plays another role of spending more money online. People that watch less TV spend less things they won’t and people that watch a ton of TV tend to spend more online.
