When we are born, over time we grow up and develop a personality. For each person, our personalities differentiate between one another which presents a wide variety of individuals. According to psychology, there are different factors that make up who we are. Today, I will be talking about the four major theories of personality (Psychodynamic, five-factor model, humanistic, and social-cognitive).
The first major theory of personality I will be talking about is the psychodynamic theory. Psychodynamics is an approach to psychology that emphasizes systematic study of the psychological forces that underlie human behavior, feelings, and emotions and how they might relate to early experience. ...uisition can be directly related to observing others within the context of social interactions, experiences, and outside media influences. The theory states that when people observe a model performing a behavior and the consequences of that behavior, they remember the sequence of events and use this information to guide subsequent behaviors. Advantages to this theory includes an accumulated an research record, concerned with important human social behaviors, and evolving theory that is open to change. Some limitations to this theory include not being fully systemizied, unified theory, and being loosely organized.
Each theory displays different strengths and limitations, but of their own reasons, each make up the personality of an individual. Without these theories, we would never know the complexity of the human behaviour and what makes every individuals special.
