When I graduated from high school, I was introduced to "fast food." The whole summer all I eat was hamburgers, pizza, and unhealthy sandwiches. I quickly went from 150 pounds to 180 pounds. That was all fat and most of it was around my waist line. I realized if I continued this regimen, I would be obese by the time I'm 21 years. I would also be more susceptible to acquiring diseases such as heart disease and cholesterol problems. I joined a local gym and started researching different working techniques and better eating habits. During this period I met numerous people who had similar goals and where willing to share their experiences with me. It seems like every person I spoke to had a different exercising routine. After a few months of training I developed my own own training routine. This routine worked great for me. I also cut out all the fast food out of my diet and began eating healthy. My initial goal was to get back to my normal weight of 150-160 pounds. I was so into my work out routines, once I reached my normal weight I set a new goal of increase my muscle mass. In order to accomplish my new goal I had change my eating habits and workout strategies. Now that I work out on a regular bases I feel energized and more confident. Working out and eating healthy is the best way for me to stay physically fit. I enjoy working out. When I started working out I thought it was going to be easy. I figured I would go to the gym and start using the machines. I quickly realized there was a lot more to properly working out. First I needed to decide which body parts I was going to workout that particular day. I also needed to decide if I wanted to workout to increase muscle mass or decrease body fat. These meals are spread throughout the day and are spaced out by two to three hours. I also drink two protein shakes on a daily bases. I drink one shake at night and one shake as a med-morning snack. Incorporating a work out routine and eating healthy has dramatically changed my life. I'm full of energy and feel great. Prior to this workout routine I constantly felt sluggish and was I completely out of shape. Now I am full of confidence and constantly strive to increase my strength. Although at times it is extremely demanding to complete the workouts, the benefits are well worth the efforts. Work Cited Iknoian, Therese. Health visitors are registered nurses who undergo extra training to work in the community with families and children under five. The main principles of health visiting are to ensure that children have a healthy and positive start to life by recognising health needs, encouraging health enhancing activities and influencing health policies (Craig and Lindsay, 2000). Health visitors provide the Healthy Child Programme (HCP) which allows all families access to services ranging from immunisations through to safeguarding. Although health visitors play a key part in the healthcare of families and children they also work closely with other health professionals in order to help families achieve optimum health. This essay will describe the health visiting role in more depth as well as discuss why immunisations are a key role in the health promotion undertaken by a health visitor.
People often go through their life working-out and going to the gym to get “buff.” For ninety-five percent of Americans that do work out, few can say that they have pushed themselves as hard as possible, but I have the distinct, and often painful, pleasure of knowing that there is another way to work out. This option is unlike any other that I have ever personally been through; and is a way that I would not wish on any average American. 4:55 a.m. Seventeen degrees Fahrenheit, a mild breeze of ten miles per-hour-- for the fifth day in a row and second consecutive month, it is time for me to wake up, make the face-numbing, core-hardening walk through the snow to the Mildred and Louis Lasch Football Building.
Beginning a work out regime might be one of the best things you can accomplish for your wellbeing. All things considered, physical action can lessen your danger of perpetual malady, enhance your equalization and coordination, help you shed pounds, and even support your self-regard. What's more, the advantages are yours for the taking, paying little mind to age, sex or physical capacity.
Exercise is very beneficial to everyone that wants to stay fit and to keep their health in good shape for the future. I know many people that work out just thirty minutes a day and eat healthy and they are in the greatest shape of their life. So during the times you feel fat and lazy and just do not want to get up off the couch. Think if you go to your nearest gym and workout for thirty minutes to an hour you will feel so much better with yourself, and have so much energy throughout your day.
Do you need some motivation to get off the couch and begin exercising? Maybe you have started to work out and then stopped your work out routine so many times that you cannot keep track of the number of programs you have tried. Well you are not alone. In fact, by statistics that would make you an average American. All the same, working out for the sake of health and well-being is becoming increasingly important as we continue to learn the effects of inactivity. There are many benefits that arrive from the presence of exercise in your daily routine. Improve strength, improved cardiovascular fitness, and an improved immune system are just three of the MANY benefits that come from exercise and activity. I will tell you a little bit more about each of these three benefits and how and why they can help to benefit you.
I honestly did not know what I was getting myself into when I first decided to enter the fitness world. Although I had seen many people getting into shape and was told what the journey was like from others, I did not know what to expect the first few months. I had never been overweight, but I was never confident or happy in my own skin. The fitness world was extremely
...ble than the traditional cardio workouts such as running on a gym machine. There is great music and instructors. It makes me want to go every time. Lastly, finding the time to get in extra walks has been working for me as well. When I have time in between classes, I put on my headphones and listen to an audiobook or music. It makes the time go by and it helps me get in some extra exercise. All of these things I am now doing in my life are realistic. Sometimes I wish I would have started sooner, but I was not ready to commit to my health.
With America’s obsession with physical fitness, we are now seeing more people excited to get into the gym and work out. People need to continue to stress the importance of working out and encouraging others to go to the gym because working out is very good for their health. People do not have an excuse to not work out because there are many gyms and programs aimed for many different types of people. America’s obsession with physical fitness is important to society because people are starting to work out more, which results in better
...ancer. I always believed that working out was not as important as everyone made it seem to be, but now I am mindful about it. I can share all the information with my family members and my peers, to enlighten them about the disease, the symptoms, the risks, and the preventions.
Exercising is too over rated. It’s not as healthy as it’s cracked up to be. All it does is make you tired as you go through and finish what you have done. You waste all your time going to the gym or watching what you eat, while you could very much be enjoying a movie on the old television while chewing on a delicious piece of pizza. Why eat all that junk that is “healthy”, what’s really bad about “junk food”? Is there anything wrong with enjoying yourself? No, there is nothing wrong at all. I believe you should have the chance to make all of your own decisions and to do whatever it is that you want. Why eat a small bowl of cereal, when you really want a second helping? Why run for a half hour to lose what you just ate, only to gain it back to do the same thing. If you just eat whatever your body is telling you that you want, you’ll be fine. That’s why our body has what we call metabolism. This helps to maintain weight and to keep you in shape, right? Damn straight! So for all those who are out there right now, reading this and thinking that it’s ok to be fat, sure it is. Although, I must say that, being too fat is no good. You are the people who probably should waste your time and money on something so stupid that you don’t even gain anything over the whole time you do it. Hell, you could be on a program for about two years, lose twenty pounds and feel great. I’d love to do that, but you know what that does later in life? That weight you lost then comes right back, it didn’t do you any good losing that weight in the long run. All that is going to happen is that you are going to turn out to be one of those really fat people we see on the news that is crying about not being able to take care of themselves and not being in good care. Screw them, why be like them, be your own person, the only healthy eating is eating at a fulfilling rate. So, next time you go to watch a show and a commercial comes on about some stupid, super duper, weight lose programs...I want you to call it.
...ishing achievable and measurable goals and planning well ahead made working out pleasurable and successful. It also demonstrated strong self-efficacy and often provided an indicator of future excellent health in the workplace.
Many studies have come to the conclusion that individuals who participate in health and wellness routines as well as a regular exercise program have a relatively increased degree of energy, lower healthcare bills, much better quality of life along with less stress, as well as improved health. Staying in good physical shape and healthy calls for everyone, to be conscious of their health, to be aware of the key fitness and health components and to follow them.
Did you know that exercise increases energy levels and increases serotonin in the brain, which leads to improved mental clarity? It doesn't only help with your brain but it helps with your whole body. In recent years, many people have become increasingly aware of their physical fitness. Well, I wonder why, it’s because it has something that’s free and you can do it any and everywhere. Some of the benefits from exercising are: it will improve your memory, you will have better posture, it will boost your confidence, it’s a way to de-stress from a long day, you’ll sleep better, you will have more energy, you will get sick less often, you’ll live longer, and you will just be happier in general. I mean who doesn't want all that in your life. Seems like exercising will make life a little easier. “Regular physical activity of at least moderate intensity provides general health benefits across a range of diseases and across all ages. In particular, there is strong evidence that the greatest health benefits happen when the least active people become moderately active.” Not having physical activity in your daily life can have a significant risks for bad health. Physical activity is defined as a general state of health and well-being or specifically the ability to perform aspects of sports or occupations. Exercise is activity requiring physical effort, to sustain or improve health and fitness. Physical fitness is a general state of health and well-being or specifically the ability to perform aspects of sports or occupations. While it might be too much work and theres not enough time, you need fitness in your life.
When I first began to exercise, I was primarily trying to add size on to my body. At the time I only weighed about one hundred sixty pounds and I was six foot one inch. I was also eight teen and feeling that my lack of participating in school sporting events, as well as my abuse of alcohol and less than ideal food choices, had stunted my physical potential. With this new found feeling of inadequacy I set off on a journey that would change my life forever. The first thing I noticed when I began searching for ways to change my body, was that I was obviously going to have to buy weights if I wanted to look like the guys in the gym. So I set out and purchased the cheapest bench and set of weights I could find. I began to mimic exercises that I had seen people do on television or while walking past the gym. In a period of about a month I had already noticed a huge difference in the amount of weight that I could lift. Within the first year of unorganized lifting, as well as no change to my eating habits, I h...
The benefit of physical fitness is to prevent obesity and encourage a healthy lifestyle thru training and focusing on the body’s compositions. Physical fitness is the measure of the body’s ability to go full capacity. If one doesn’t exercise ones body doesn’t work at its full potential all the time. Exercise can lower the risk of having major problems with ones body and relieve stress.
