The current business world is full of high level of competition among businesses. Some of the companies can go to any extent just in order to make profit. It is no longer uncommon to find companies that are engaged in cutthroat competition at the expense of the environment. Many of the issues that are affecting our environment are as a result of the colossal companies that are tuned towards making profit without having the interest of the people at heart. The expansive companies, just as Indominous Rex in Jurassic World is, have an appetite that is insatiable and alarming. The dinosaurs does not care for the people around it and in most cases, would even eat its siblings as is explained in a discussion between Owen and Clair noted as follows: “Owen: What happened to its sibling? Clair: She ate it” (Trevorrow, 2015). In this scene Owen is enquiring the history of Indominous Rex who seems to be hell-bent on causing anarchy because of his greedy and gluttonous nature. The actions of Indominous Rex can only be compared to the unscrupulous production of goods and services and subsequent extreme marketing campaigns of companies. These activities do not capture the problems that these goods cause on the environment. The most recent case of such high level of greediness is the case of Volkswagen that released many vehicles into the world market and caused an uproar because they never met certain set standard that determine quality and roadworthiness. These vehicles did not pass the pollution test as is required by the international rules and regulations set to protect the environment from pollutant vehicle exhaust products. These vehicles endangered the lives of people as they contribute to global warming because and particularly air pollution. The company, therefore is no different from Indominous Rex who has proved to be very good at eating even its own sibling.
