People have a misconception that rosters are used for managing the jobs only. You might be tempted to use this method in your theory exams. Those who have problems remembering key points may write them down with a pencil in the margins and, then, expand their answer around that framework. You may use a to-do list in writing speeches and debates also!
People use various methods for managing their time, such as keeping a time journal, setting reminders in their phone, setting alarms, etc. Why do you need a to-do list when you might be using any of the above stated methods already? A to-do list is a concise record of your journal. It contains a brief description of the work you have to perform. Those who want to work according to their wish, and do not want to stick to a rigid time schedule, would prefer it over a time journal. The act of creating a weekly list can prove to be effective towards my time management skills. However, I personally believe that a list can only act as a guideline. Once attending university, not only is a person learning to find a balance between studying, attending or finding a job and enjoying leisure activities, but they are also discovering or developing skills they did not know they had. One of the most important skills that will be developed is that of time keeping and being able to prioritise activities and tasks effectively. Many students find it difficult to organise their social life along with the tasks of handing in assignments and getting into lectures on time, so the idea of list making and setting clear, achievable goals for themselves is a necessity. Dividing goals into key steps, helps the achiever of being able to carry out the task well, and also allows them to be able to reflect upon the their progress both during an after the achieved task. All tasks prepared and given to students during the academic process are provided with a time deadline and it is expected that they abide by this impecably, with unpleasant consequences if they do not. During this time, students learn that without time management skills that they learn within the academic structure it would be very difficult for them to be able to proceed into the working world without basic found skills having penitent consequences if not adhered to. During many classes and lectures within the academic world, lecturers and class leaders explain and maintain morals and practises that they developed and mastered during their time of entering the world of work, and ensure their aptitude and competence is inflicted and understood by their students. By ensuring these skills are shown by members of a higher rank, they are influencing and encouraging people to have the grounds to suceed in a pressurising enviroment.
Over this summer, I realised that every seconds count and there are moments where it is going to be really hard. Concerning my time management, I plan to classify each of my daily activities into 4 different categories which are the following: “Important and Urgent”, “Important but Not Urgent”, “Not Important and Not Urgent”, “Not Important but Urgent”. I think that if I plan wisely I will be able to actually manage my time in a very nice way.
After hours of research, all the “experts” reach the same conclusion that to-do lists will make your life more efficient. Because when we write all our tasks down, suddenly we will arrive at the nirvana of productivity.
My short term goal is to get everything done on time. I feel like this is a good goal to focus on now because I could get in the hang with it and I won’t turn things in late. My first step is to set reminders. I will also set certain times to do work. That will make me turn everything in on time because i’m forcing myself to do it. My struggle is is that i have a lot of distractions around me while I do my work. So if i get rid of distractions I will focus more. Once I focus more then I will get it all in on time.

There are many different parts to time management, such as procrastination, strategy, organization, expectations and being prepared. All of them contribute equally in many ways. All of the things that we have spoken about in this paper are highly recommended. The best thing to do when it comes to time management is to set a strategy, become organized and do your best to avoid procrastination. When you manage your time make sure you include the following; studying, sleeping, eating, relaxing and other necessary things. No matter what our circumstances are, we can all use some time management skills in our lives.

If you work in your office at all times, you may set up a to do list on your computer with calendar reminders so that you can keep on top of things.
