Just another Gadget iPad Air seems to be the latest and greatest tablet around. With both raving reviews and the abundance of them sold, I decided to purchase one. After having one for a short period of time and now reading reviews, I can now understand the pros and cons of the tablet. iPad Air is lightweight, has a long battery life, and is multifunctional, but does not have the best speakers available; it still makes for a great tablet for business or personal use. The iPad Air still isn't the lightest handheld computing device around - achieving that while offering the same versatile computing experience would be impossible - but the Air is light enough to be a realistic contender in fields where the iPad 4's weight counted against it. The Air is a trim little e-reader that you can happily tote in one hand for long chapters at a time, challenging Kindles and iPad minis as reading devices. It’s a gaming handheld that doesn't weigh down a rucksack noticeably. It's a coffee-table browser that you can pick up absent-mindedly, and a note-taker and presentation device that doesn’t make your briefcase feel like it’s been filled with rocks (Price 1). Even though it isn’t the lightest tablet out on the market, it still is light enough to be in my purse to be able to use anywhere while on the go. This makes it easy for travel and every day use. For me the iPad Air is much lighter than carrying my laptop everywhere. Apple has changed some things with the newer iPad Air model. "Apple has reduced the size of the battery from 42.5Wh to 32.4Wh - presumably to reduce weight and physical size of the iPad Air. Yet Apple claims that overall battery life is roughly the same, at its favored figure of 10 hours of web browsing or video (Price... ... middle of paper ... ...2014's tablets with a stunning effort”, I have come to the conclusion that even with the new and improved model of the iPad Air not everything is top of the line. Speakers have not improved much from the latest models, but where it lacks it has improved in other areas. Its camera, processor, screen size and resolution have all improved to try to stay up to par. Even with its minor setbacks, the iPad Air is still one of the top selling tablets on the market. To me this was a smart purchase with its lightweight and multifunctional capabilities, it can travel everywhere with me. The Amazon Kindle Fire is both a small tablet computer and an Amazon Kindle E-reader. The Kindle Fire is about the same size as the original Amazon Kindle and lets you store hundreds of books on the device. With all the hype surrounding the iPod post its introduction into the electronics market, it should be of no surprise that iPod’s unmatched demand for such distinct music management tool would lead Apple to add iPod’s features to the most sold electronic device to date: the cell phone. Thus, you get a hybrid called the iPhone. This highly anticipated electronic trend setter without fault had numbers of people waiting in line at the Apple store in New York; iPod fans want to be among the first to explore some of the most innovative phone features to date. Among those features you will find a 3.5 inch touch screen (the largest of all smart phones), Wi-Fi connectivity, the most usage time of all smart phones, i.e. talk time, internet use, or video playback, and many more impressive characteristics. The iPhone has, thereby, revolutionized the cell phone industry to become a potential best designed and most admired phone of the decade.
Today’s world is constantly evolving and technological advances are surfacing it seems like every few weeks. Apple has produced the country’s most popular devices and the question has arose whether or not iPads are effective in the classroom. This research project will thoroughly entail the pros of implementing an iPad in the learning environment. As for my personal take on the debate, I side with modernizing education in order to keep up with technology and to preserve the student’s enjoyable learning environment.
In todays fast-paced society there has been an increased demand for resources to be more accessible. This demand has created the trend of devices, such as laptops, to become more and more portable. A good example of portability would be the way the way desktops evolved into bulky laptops, and then laptops into smartphones and tablets. What makes the MacBook Air more portable than most is it’s small design, long battery life, and with it being lightweight. Other laptops by Apple, like the Macbook Pro, weighing about 5 pounds don’t come close to being as lightweight as the Air. When MacBook Air was released in 2008 it was introduced as the world’s thinnest laptop coming in at 0.68 inches and weighing only 2.38 pounds. Compared to other laptops the only other device that comes close would be ...
Has your school ever considered switching from old textbooks to brand new tablets? They greatly improve schools and save them money. “Tablets can hold hundreds of textbooks on one device, plus homework, quizzes, and other files, eliminating the need for physical storage of books and classroom materials. The average tablet contains anywhere from 8 to 64 gigabytes (GB) of storage space. On the Amazon Kindle Fire, for instance, 1,000 books take up one GB of space.” Said Emily Price in her article called How Much Storage Does Your Tablet Need? Even though they can glitch and break, schools should switch from textbooks to tablets because it will help kids learn and it is cheaper to buy one tablet opposed to a few textbooks. Tablets are a better alternative. They save schools costs for supplies, like pencils, paper, scissors, and other basic supplies. A tablet costs about $300, but a textbook costs about $75, however tablets are able to store thousands of textbooks in one device, saving schools the cost of many textbooks. On average E-textbooks cost 50-60% les...
Having tablets means purchasing the tablets themselves, the software, the wifi structures, and training staff and administration how to properly handle this technology. The average cost of textbooks in a high school class is about 180,000 and switching to tablets would cost 430,000. Many schools can not afford this change and it would take around 10 years if the current spending costs stay the same. Tablets require an extra amount of money taken out a school’s budget, meaning they would not be able to provide for some of the other activities they have. Students using textbooks do not pay for them, but with tablets, they are usually forced to pay some type of fee. Also with budget cuts, schools would naturally make parents pay more for them. The expensive cost of tablets is something that is not needed on schools and families, when we already have perfectly good
I carry a backpack. It must weigh at least 25 pounds, and there are so many reasons for it to weigh so much. First and foremost, it holds my textbooks. Most students use their lockers to store their textbooks, but I keep mine with me, as if parting with them would tear me apart. And maybe it would.
With Apple continuously innovating they have improved the battery life, increased the memory capacity, or a better colour options. With each change they have considered the value and to what it will mean to the customer and how will that meet their needs.

They both are actually very different in several ways. In this paper, I will compare the size, connectivity, power, and price of notebook and desktop computers. I can make these comparisons because I have both a notebook and a desktop computer in my apartment. Size is one of the major concerns for people who want to buy a computer. A notebook/laptop tends to be smaller than a desktop computer.
Technology has made our lives more productive in many different ways. One of the greatest inventions is Apple’s products. It leads to an evolution of tablet devices. An iPad or iPhone can act as a textbook, laptop, navigation, camera, notebook, gaming devices and more. It combines all the other devices into one, which allows us to manage our time effectively.
