For my Communicating Weighted Utilities in Decision Making paper, I am doing a comparison of the important features of a vacation that is purchased as a package versus a self-managed vacation for the summer of 2014, to Hong Kong. I’ve never been on a tour to Hong Kong before because I live there, but I would always recommend people to just self-manage their trip to Hong Kong because you can do more and you are not always on a rush to follow the tour package schedule. You are able to go to places on you own time and be relaxed. There are many advantages and benefits to having a self-managed vacation to Hong Kong than having a package deal, which can lead to a pleasurable trip.
I consulted with five people that would be beneficial for the research involved in this paper. The first person I consulted was my aunt because she works at a travel agency so I wanted to see what package deals were popular in today’s society. I also talked to be my mom and dad, my two friends who owns a yacht to get an estimate of how much gas was for the boat. With the help of these people listed, they are able to provide the information I needed. The criteria’s that I will be focusing on includes transportation, safety, food, and child friendly, knowledgeable tour guide, weather, hotel, entertainment, shopping, fees, and travel reputation. The five people I consulted felt like these eleven utilities were the most important and the others that didn’t get mentioned were not that important.
Here below are two tables. The first table shows the different utilities that I thought of before consulting the 5 people I picked. The second table is the top 11 Utilities that was formed when talking to the 5 people about the trip, along with the ranking ...

This trip to Hong Kong is 7 Days and 6 Nights. The two tables below is a breakdown of the costs if one was to travel with the travel package deal versus a self-managed deal.
Overall, I believe that a self-managed trip to Hong Kong is very practical and easy to do. By looking at the comparisons above, we can clearly see that it is a cheaper alternative and you get to go to so many more places than if one was to travel with a package deal. If anyone were to ask me about going to Hong Kong, I would definitely recommend places they can go to so they can plan their own itinerary of what they would want to do rather than stick with an itinerary that is so stressful with waking up early and catching the tour bus to get to places. A self-managed deal is more pleasurable and feasible.
The history of Hong Kong is an interesting one and moreover, it has defined Hong Kong as an export oriented region. This section therefore explores the most important historical developments of Hong Kong, and discusses the effects on the economic development.

The editor, Clement A Tisdell, is from the University of Queensland, Australia and focuses on tourism economics. The information from the handbook is well trusted with every fact or claim having its own individual citation for verification and further studies. This source surprisingly, had more information on the background and current state of the cruise industry than it did about economics of it all. The article does provide valuable data when it comes to the increasing trends of the industry which could then be related to the outcomes of the also increasing economic
Hong Kong has always remained a very unique city, one which is said to have ‘a Western past, an Eastern future’. Since its colonisation by the British in the 1860s, it has maintained to a very large extent its Chinese identity and its connection to its Motherland, while at the same time, has frequent contact with the Western world, politically, economically, and culturally. Hong Kong’s unique position has made the city a vibrant international metropolis that acts as a bridge between East and West. Yet after it was returned to China in 1997, this former British colony has been constantly reassessing its British past, struggling to find its new position and redefining its identity.
Each year, America’s travel and tourism industry generates approximately $1.5 trillion dollars in economic output, or about 2.6% of the country’s gross domestic product (Select USA, 2016). Nearly 20% of this economic activity is directly related to accommodations, which serve the short term lodging needs of pleasure and business travelers. Unlike other American economic sectors, this lodging industry is a highly fragmented, diversified market with an incredible variety of suppliers. Temporary overnight lodging can range from undeveloped campsites, hostels, and capsule hotels all the way up to mansions and incredibly luxurious five store hotels. Price ranges run the gamut from just a few dollars a night to thousands of
A second strategy that has been rejected is one concerned with the consumer awareness of SGC. Currently, SGC is only advertising to travel agencies. Coupled with segmentation, SGC’s current advertising strategy has hurt SGC in the sense that consumer awareness is considerably low. Only a small portion of the population even knows that Sea Goddess exists. SGC is only targeting those who travel frequently. They may want to target the portion of the population that wants to travel, but is unsure of where to go or what to do. In order for SGC to reach the consumer, new efforts must be made in the advertising plan. Mere travel agency recommendations are not going to be enough to keep SGC alive in the marketplace. Other vehicles are going to be necessary to spread SGC’s message about the luxuries and benefits of this extraordinary cruise. At the present time, only a small number of all travel agencies have the sufficient knowledge that it takes to make an informative sell to the consumer. It may be profitable for SGC to employ some hi...
The high involvement product that I purchased was a Star Cruise travel package. This was purchased back in June last year when there was a Malaysian Association of Tour & Travel Agents (MATTA) Fair held in Kuching. I bought it under the travel agency called Borneo Exploration. Why I bought it is because my mum has been thinking of going travelling for a while. The package deal that was offered was a 3 days 2 nights cruise to Thailand and Langkawi from Singapore.

When you associate anything with New York City it is usually the extraordinary buildings that pierce the sky or the congested sidewalks with people desperate to shop in the famous stores in which celebrities dwell. Even with my short visit there I found myself lost within the Big Apple. The voices of the never-ending attractions call out and envelop you in their awe. The streets are filled with an atmosphere that is like a young child on a shopping spree in a candy store. Although your feet swelter from the continuous walking, you find yourself pressing on with the yearning to discover the 'New York Experience'.

Looking more into these sectors it has been observed that food and beverage has rated 8.1 out of ten and accounts for 10% of importance to the New Zealand holiday experience. The quality of food

It is not possible to meet each guests’ needs and wants in this world since they have different perceived value over the same product, however, there are a few common factors that contribute more than others to guest satisfaction. According to Choi and Chu (2001, pp.213-217) the service quality, quality of rooms and the value you get for a price are the top three factors in determining guest satisfaction.

1.2 Problem Formulation In the problem formulation part of my report I would describe the overall situation of the U.K Tourism industry. The service concept of “Simply Travel” will give us information about the services provided by the company. I will find out about the customers, competitors of the company. Tourism is affected by the stakeholders with whom the destinations are established or the areas that are attempting to attract tourists. The customer stakeholder needs to seek out destinations and packages that appeal to their desires than accepting predetermined vacation packages. The stakeholder’s in the tourism industry need to work together to avoid miscommunication and enhance packages that appeal to clients requests. All the
