The battle on what to consume has been debated since the Stone Age. Through those times and leading into modern day, it starts at sunrise. Eggs are normally the “go to” food that society correlates with breakfast. A person can choose raw, boiled or fried eggs. The healthy benefits and implications from consumption of each one of these cooking styles are the variables in question. Eggs have the potential to be more than just another breakfast item. The right balance of preparation and consumption can satisfy a person’s hunger while providing nutrients effectively to the body. The egg has an excellent balance of proteins and vitamins that are essential for muscle development and stamina and therefore contribute to an overall healthy diet.
Eggs have an unspoken amount of nutrition. The vitamins eggs provide range from Vitamin A to a slew of B vitamins to a balance of minerals and protein. To some, eggs are known to be the “perfect food”. The reason for the nickname is because of the nutritional properties eggs possess. Shawn Perrine and Joe Weider Muscle and Fitness writes “whole eggs are proven a nutritional powerhouse containing protein, fatty acids, vitamins and minerals” (126). There are three common ways eggs are consumed. The eggs can be either eaten raw, boiled or fried. Raw eggs are not cooked and usually swallowed from a glass. The texture and raw taste make for a gagging experience. Many believe, the nutrients in the eggs are preserved the most if they are eaten raw. The problem with eating raw eggs is the possibility of contracting Salmonella or other bacteria that can infect the body. The health scales in which eggs are placed are quite high. For years, there have been quite a number of tales and myths that surround the pale oval shape. There are many advantages to eating eggs as part of a balanced diet. The egg is able to stand alone and sustain a being all within the confines of its shell. The egg proves to be a balance of proteins and vitamins that are the building blocks of muscle development and stamina. The variations in preparation have tantalized many breakfast eaters to devour their morning feasts till their hearts content. It has been renowned by many as being not only healthy and delicious, but the perfect food to match.
