Abortion is one of the most highly debated issues in our country. Abortion, or termination of pregnancy, is when a woman ends her pregnancy so that she will not leave with the results of childbirth. It has been practice for hundreds of years and medical technology has advanced since then. Abortion has said to be a safe and much more sanitary procedure for the women receiving the operation, but the result does not remain the same for the defenseless child. This procedure is sometimes abuse and therefore, deserves to have stricter guidelines placed upon it.
There are a few reasons why women terminate their pregnancy. The first reason is three-fourths of women say that having a baby would come in between their work, school, or responsibilities. Second reason is three-fourths of women say they cannot afford a child, and the third reason is half of women say they do not want to be a single parent, or they are having problems with their partner. Other reasons include physical problems with health or the women are survivors of rape.
When removing a child from the womb, a woman can select from two procedures. The first option is to take pills, which allows a woman to have a miscarriage. The second option is surgery, which is a surgical abortion. This operation involves two ways to remove the child from the womb, which are Vacuum Aspiration and Dilatation and Evacuation. A woman has to be at least between 15 and 24 weeks of pregnancy and the woman can go home the same day. In 2011, about 1.06 million abortions took place in the United States and half of pregnancies among American woman were not plan. Most operations can take place in one day and you do not need to stay overnight.

It was a great inconvenience, but Jesus rebuked the disciples and welcomed the children. The Greek word for infant in Luke 18:15 is the same word Luke uses for the infant in Elizabeth’s womb (1:41, 44). God shows His great love for us by calling us His children (1 John 3:1). Surely, we should have the same attitude as Jesus towards our children from the time of conception onwards.
