Zachary Taylor was born on November 24, 1784 in Barboursville, Virginia to Lieutenant Colonel Richard Taylor and Sarah Dabney Strother Taylor. He was taken to Kentucky to get raised on a plantation. He spent most of his childhood on that plantation alongside his two parents, seven brothers and sisters, and twenty-six slaves. Only sixteen years later his family owned more than 10,000 acres across Kentucky. Taylor never attending college, from a young age he knew wanted to be in the military. When he was 28 years old his first officer duty was as the commander at Fort Pickering, present day Memphis, TN. In 1810, Taylor married Margaret Mackall Smith and had 6 children. He was very popular at the time with all his victories which earned him a spotlight for presidency. Although he identified himself as a nationalist, he was apart of the a Whig political group. Appealing to Southerners for owning slaves and Northerners for his long military career, his ability to become president was high. Just three years later in November of 1848 he won the election and became the nation’s 12th president, substituting the former president, James K. Polk. Taylor refused all postages and letters, because of that he didn’t receive notice of his nomination of presidency until several days later. He won by 100,000 more votes than Lewis Cass. While president he urged Western territories to engage into statehood and took on a anti-slavery standpoint. In doing so it angered Southerners into heated debates. Jesse James was born on September 5th, 1847 in Kearney, Mo Jesses parents are Robert S. and Zerelda James. His mother Zerelda James was born on January 29, 1825 in Woodford county Kentucky. His father was Robert S. James was born July 17, 1818 in Logan county in Kentucky he married his wife in 1841. He attended Georgetown collage in Kentucky after received his diploma he and his wife moved to Missouri. This is when they decided to have Jesse’s oldest brother frank once born they bought a farm.
James Monroe was born on April 28,1758 in Westmoreland County, Virginia, at this time Virginia was a British colony. He was the oldest son of five children, one sister and three brothers. They were the children of Elizabeth Jones Monroe and Spence Monroe. Spence Monroe was a farmer and a carpenter. When James was eleven he started to attend Campbelltown Academy. In 1774 when James Monroe was sixteen Spence Monroe died and James was left to manage the family property. James Monroe attended the college of William and Mary in Williamsburg the July after his father died.

Andrew Jackson was born in a backwoods settlement in the Carolinas in 1776. His parents, who were Scotch-Irish people. They came to America two years before Andrew was born. His mother was widowed while pregnant with him. At age thirteen, Andrew joined the patriotic cause and volunteered to fight the British. He and his brother were both captured and imprisoned together by the British. Their mother got them released by a prisoner exchange, but his brother died on the long trip home from smallpox. During his independent days, he lived in a tavern with other students.

While he attended school in a public school of Plains his father took care of the crops and worked as a business man; his mother Lillian Gordy Carter was working as a registered nurse.
Thomas Jefferson was born on April 13,1743 in Shadwell, Virginia. He was born into a family that had status, wealth, and tradition of public service. Jefferson was the third child in the family and grew up with six sisters and one brother. Thomas Jefferson was well educated; he attended private schools and at the age of seventeen he attended the College of William and Mary. Thomas Jefferson was interested in being a scientist, after learning that there was no opportunity for a career in science in Virginia he then studied law. In 1767, Thomas Jefferson was admitted to the bar in 1769, when Jefferson public career started he already owned more than twenty-five hundred acres that he inherited from his father who died in 1757. After marring his wife Martha Wayles Skelton whom was a young widow his property doubled. After the death of Martha’s parents, his property doubled again.
Andrew Jackson was born on March 15, 1767, in the Waxhaw settlement, a community of Scotch-Irish immigrants along the border between north and south Carolina. As far as I know they are still disputing his place of origin. he claimed that his place of origin was actually south Carolina though in my opinion if he said he was from there he was from that location. His father had died before his birth Andrew’s mother had three sons and was living with her Crawford relatives. Jackson was attending local schools and received an elementary education.

Starting with the election of 1840, candidate General William Henry Harrison was easily elected as the celebrated military hero of the most recent Indian Wars. The hero over the Indians at the battle of Tippencanoe, became president and John Tyler became vice president. During his inauguration ceremony the weather was cold and rainy. The new President contracted pneumonia and died only one month into his term.
He lost his very first presidential campaign to John Quincy Adams. He along with all of his supporters thought that John had cheated his way into the presidency with the help of Henry Clay being the last decision to put him in the office. During that election the votes came to a tie and the decision of the winner went to Henry Clay since he was the speaker of the house. Henry told John that if he gave him the position of Secretary of State, he would vote him into the presidency. Even though it seemed like Henry Clay and John Quincy Adams won that round, the next presidential.
