Little Yume was only five when he found out about his wonderful gift. He could sing really well, and it made people smile .His dad smiled happily along with his older sister too because every time he sang, it sounded beautiful. As he got older, his appearance changed, and so did his voice, into something even better. He joined many competitions, and he always won first place in anything that was involved in singing. You see, Yume was happy as anyone could be.
Ring around the Rosie
Yume was twelve when he discovered the song called, “Ring Around the Rosie”. It had a lovely tune, and the rhythm was perfect for his voice to sing loudly, and so he did. As he sang it towards his friends, they suggested for him to sing it to everyone later in the talent show. Yume nodded and tried his best; everyone smiled and cheered for him. He won the competition, and he was happy about it. His family and friends were very proud of him, and cheered for him.
As Yume got older, he would stay in his room as he practiced his voice as long as possible. His very big room was colored white, and only one win...

... tiny paper clothes. Some characters in Cofer's childhood were exciting just like some of the people in my childhood, but the ending of her childhood and mine were very different. At the age of fifteen, Cofer had some boyfriends; they loved and admired her. She fell in love for the first time and learned a lesson about the love; she also was no longer a child at the age of fifteen. However, the ending of my childhood was caused by a war. Like the rope of a kite was broken in the raging wind, my childhood's kite disappeared into the sky. The tragedies of the war fell upon the people in my family and my country; they shattered my innocent childhood when I was only a thirteen years old girl. Although everyone has a different memory about their life, and each of us has special ending to our childhood, reading Silent Dancing gave me the urge to recall these remembrances.

The short story The Gift has many layers with in itself on different topics. The topics of discrimination, feminism, friendship, tradition, and power all can be seen in this story. Many literary devices can be seen in the story also. Such as: theme, metaphor, tone and symbol. This story unlike most as that I couldn't predict what was going to happen that made the girls leave the school. Just as it says in the beginning paragraph "No one expected Merceditas Cáceres, on the day Carlotta Rodriguez was expelled from the Sacred Heart, to hang her silk sash from the doorknob, drop her medal of the Congregation of the Angels in the alms box, and walk out through the schools' portico arm in arm with her friend, head held high and without deigning once to look back, with that gesture of paramount disdain so commonplace in those of her social class." (Ferré) Just like no one in the story would have expected the main characters to do this, during the story I could not figure out why they would have done it.
“All day she play chess. All day I have no time do nothing but dust off her winnings” (Tan 324). After hearing Auntie Lindo go on about her child, Jing-Mei’s mother wanted to brag about her daughter as well “Our problem worser than yours. If we ask Jing-Mei wash dish. She hear nothing but music. You can’t stop this natural talent” (Tan 324). When Jing-Mei hurt her mother’s comment she knew she “had to put a stop to her foolish pride” (Tan 324). A few weeks after the incident the mother decided to put Jing-Mei in the church’s talent show to prove to Aunt Lindo how talented she was at playing the piano. But talented was not the word to describe Jing-Mei with her piano playing ability. The talent show did not go how her mother expected it to. Once again something inside of Jing-Mei died inside as she could feel yet again the disappointment in her parents faces. “But my mother’s expression was what devastated me: a quiet, blank look that said she had lost everything” (Tan 326).

Mrs. Bartle employs a little bit of four of each of the methods shared in (the vocal pedagogy) class. She uses a lot of the Westminister method but borrows from the others. The others she borrows from are Christiansen, Fred Warning and Wilson/Klein. Much of what she writes, is from her own life’s career experiences as a choral director. The first subject she deals with is the director’s attitude. A director should have a positive attitude. (p. 3, Bartle)
It all started out at Moises Vela Middle School in the band hall. Everyone was classified into their perspective instruments, playing in somewhat perfect pitch, barely learning the basics. The director shuffled over to the podium where she then welcomed everyone to the new school year, and asked us to play a concert f note to begin a new season of concert
My Papa always had a big personality, the kind that made a person drop whatever they were doing just to listen to him sing, laugh, tell a story- even if it was just a simple tale of washing the car- that was what made him the best performer. My Papa was always humming a melody, tapping a beat, bobbing his head to song that no one else could hear. Music was everything to him, for every memory he had there was a soundtrack, for every emotion he had felt over the years Papa could think of a song to perfectly relate to it- one that he and his family had lovingly dubbed as His Song was My Way by Elvis Presley. I had always looked up to the broad-shouldered man because of what he taught me to me about music- ranging from how to count the beats and find the chords, to just listening to notes with an open heart and seeing where it takes you. This man was filled with life in the best way, and everyone wanted to be around him because of it.
For many of us, one of the most accurate and effective ways to express the feelings that really matter to us is through music. We don’t only grow to attached to songs that are catchy, but also those with lyrics that we can relate to. It is not uncommon to feel like sometimes, artists can convey the way we feel better than we could ourselves. The storybook-like lines you read at the start of this page are a collection of lyrics
In my placement, the educators always sing songs. In the afternoon, the children usually do gross motor activity while singing. In the morning, Child B hold a ball and came to the educator, he looked at the educator and gave the ball to her. Then the educator sings”Bouncing the ball, bouncing just like me.” Child B was sating on the floor followed the beats to bounce their body with big smile. The child A looked the child B and picked a red ball rolling it.
Nine instruments reside within my repertoire. One of these instruments is not one that requires me to pack it up and carry around with me: one everybody has, occasionally fails to recognize, and therefore neglects-- the human voice. Singing is a passion of mine, but few know about. Otherwise, the majority of the population has never heard me vocalize. Even so, I was a songbird from the moment I learned to use my voice. Innumerable hours have been spent in my cozy music room at home, enjoying the freedom of expression and warm, enveloping embrace that follows music wherever each note may lead. However, the fact that I sing never pops up in conversation-- I am not in the school choir, only ever was in sixth grade. My
Both Amy Chua and Mrs. Woo have very high expectations for their children, but their expectations are different, and the results are different. They want their children to be successful. Amy Chua asks her children to be straight A students, and she forces her seven-year old daughter to play a piano piece that “is incredibly difficult for young player” (Chua...
Christiana had been pondering in her room thinking about ideas for the Lighthouse Talent Show when her phone started buzzing. A message from Paige was sent a couple of seconds ago.The text read, "Don't even sign up for the talent show because I am going to win." Christina dropped her phone and started panicking. Christina felt a drop of sweat run down her back. Christiana had done nothing to Paige except winning more competitions than her. Christina and Paige had not been friends since they have been in fourth grade. They both were outstanding in art and have been in many art shows. If either of them won the talent show they would become well kno...
My shyness began to fade like the setting sun. She asked me why I didn’t want to be on stage performing. My heart began to race again, like it had that first day in class. I told her that I would never do that, I was too scared. As my eighth grade year drew to a close, she called me to her classroom and asked if I wanted
