From the observations above, we can say that the “Classical Woodwind Quintet” is perhaps the most colorful and varied ensemble from all of the chamber music combinations. The variety of the colors, their voicing, compass and the possibilities of refined performance have inspired many of the most prominent composers to write for this ensemble throughout the whole history of the classical music. The real problem of this ensemble that cannot be fond in ensembles of stringed instruments, or any other group of instruments, is the balance and the blending between these five instruments. This has proved to be a very healthy situation since such a flexible growth has given every talented student some chance to at least be exposed to a type of chamber music, along with his band or orchestra performances. In the last century, most of the directors of instrumental music came up with the feeling that certain chamber ensembles should be developed and nurtured throughout the years of their young students because their training meant more to the band and orchestra than any other. For an example if all of the band and orchestra first chair parts were trained to play in woodwind quintet, brass sextet and fine string quartet, then when they would play in their bigger ensembles they would feel much more comfortable playing and trusting in each other than usual. To be specific, with the woodwind quintet, whenever any solo or maybe a duet or a trio needs to be played by the flute, oboe, clarinet, horn or bassoon in either the orchestra or band those players can be counted upon to do a better job because of their quintet
