A study performed by Daily Mail in 2010 displayed that over 60% of school students have been bullied because of their appearance and how they look. This piece of evidence shows that there is a lack of diversity in most schools, and it also presents that looking different has caused severe cases of bullying. Furthermore, it suggests that you shouldn’t judge someone by the way they appear, as it can erupt many relentless issues. I agree with this belief, as contemplating the way how someone acts by the way they look at first glance, is a certain type of behaviour and habit you should not develop. Plus, I myself would not like to be judged by the way I look. Would you? First of all, the novel Wonder by R.J Palacio covers this vital problem when the main protagonist August Pullman addresses that he does not want to be defined by the way he looks, and hopes that people can see him as more than just an unusual appearance. Wonder is an excellent book as it explores the theme of how someone looks on the outside, versus who that same person is on the inside. This demonstrates that the way someone looks is a tiny fraction of what makes up that person as an individual. I believe that you should learn about someone’s personality before judging them because of how they may appear. Someone could possibly have a very kind heart, but you wouldn’t know for certain if you assumed their behaviour by what they look on the outside. Simply because someone may appear different, doesn’t necessarily mean they act any different, I think this is a valid
