Women’s roles are changing in society and have improved a lot since the past. Speakers such as Michelle Obama and Hilary Clinton are bringing positive attention to this topic and making a difference. Their strong and influential voices are bringing changes and improving the standards for woman. Movements such as the suffragist movement improved how people saw women. When women stand up and demand more respect they gain more power. Achieving gender equality in the job fields, and in everyday life is coming closer to being achieved every day.

She is an inspiration to women everywhere. In a speech she did to address the class of African fellows who got the opportunity to stay in the US for the Mandela Washington Fellowship she said, “No country can ever truly flourish if it stifles the potential of its women and deprives itself of the contributions of half of its citizens.” Being the First Lady in the white house gives her a position where an audience actually listens to her. She is bringing awareness and attention to this important subject and problem women face in this country. She’s someone who people look up to a lot because of how she isn’t overseen by her husband being the president. She has her own following and works very hard to do her part in changing America. In a speech she gave last year she said, “Let women work and they drive economic growth across all sectors. Send a girl to school even just for one year and her income dramatically increases for life, and her children are more likely to survive and her family more likely to be healthier for years to come. Give women equal rights and entire nations are more stable and secure. Deny women equal rights and the instability of nations is almost certain." Hilary is someone who has not only talked about equal rights for women but is also making profound accomplishments that are setting new standards for women. She tells the world “women’s rights are human rights”. She isn’t afraid to speak her mind, even while being in front of a United Nations conference full of men. She was able to get the men to accept her ideas and stand with her on making the changes necessary on bettering women’s roles. Speaking out on this controversial topic of women’s rights can be tricky because it wasn’t as accepted years ago as it is now. Hilary is currently running for the presidential role and has made it farther than any other woman has in the presidential race. She is making new major achievements for women and is improving the respect women
