“Women Rights”
Hillary Rodham Clinton is a well-recognized woman in the United States. Her great contribution as secretary of State impact people’s lives. One of many remarkable speeches Hillary gave was the “The women rights speech”, in the 4th World Conference on Women Plenary Session where she uses strong words and emotions to appeal the audience. Even though the speech talks about women rights, she wants everyone, including men and children to listen and take action. Her use of ethos, logos and pathos throughout the speech made the audience believe in her words.

She uses pathos when she emphasizes the things women do that can relate to each other, she combines two fragments that can mean the opposite form each other but complement in a way "whether it is while playing with our children in the park, or washing clothes in a river, or taking a break at the office water cooler, we come together and talk about our aspirations and concern.” Here she talks about washing clothes in a river and taking a break in the office, actions two different type of people do. Solidarity is the main emotion she is portraying to the public.
She touches hearts when she talks about the struggles some women go through to help their families the right way and how she feels for them “I want to speak for those women in my own country, women who are raising children on the minimum wage, women who can’t afford health care or child care, women whose lives are threatened by violence, including violence in their own homes.” Those women feel like they are alone, that nobody would understand their situation but Hillary comforts them with her kind …show more content…

She uses strong words to evolve her speech.
“We must respect the choices that each woman makes for herself”,” Every women deserves”.
When she uses these words(respect and deserves) the message is clear. Clinton is fighting for women rights, she takes this topic in a serious way. It is a commitment she has and wants everyone to listen.
Rhetorical situations make part of this speech to influence the audience. Repetition will make it possible for everyone to remember an important fact like the repetitive words “It is a violation”, the reason of why she uses negative words is to make people realize there is a problem that needs to be fixed. The audience already know the good things, what they want to know is the bad things that need a solution. What can be done to improve the world? She also repeats the word “If women” followed by “will”, this gives a cause and a positive effect. Good outcomes come with good actions.
