I believe that schools that are redesigning all of its English classes shouldn’t put any more money into the English department. Nothing needs to be changed. As long as kids are learning to know how to the basics then you will be fine. The importance of English is decreasing over time. I feel that as long as the students know the basics like nouns, verbs, adjectives, etc. that they will be successful in life. I am not saying lets just forget about English all together I just don’t think you need to waste money on something that the school doesn’t even need to change. I would think that the students would rather learn something that makes sense more than something that they don’t understand at all. In ‘’Consider the Candidate and the Position’’ John A. Challenger states that the people that are seeking these carriers like journalism, corporate communications and publishing should be able to demonstrate above average writing and verbal communication skills. For the younger generation the content of the message is far more important than the structure. They rely on shortcuts so it makes it easier and so they don’t have t type as much. Well I think that is wrong because all of the people that try there hardest and cant get the grammar down well but they may be able to do the job better than anyone you have. That’s like saying if a smart person passed the grammar test but does not know how to do the job at all than you would rather hire them because they know how to do grammar better… Know it should be if you do good on the test and you have a couple grammar errors then you should be fine impulse you already know how to do the job unlike the other person that actually did good but they don’t know how to do the job at
