There are different types of high school graduates in America: some seniors already know what they are aiming for the future and some others wish not to know, while several others care less about their future – even if they are going to graduate in a couple of days. Few from the ones who are planning to go to college are just going to figure out themselves. Why go to college when you are just trying to figure out yourselves? Why should you not just take a year off for that? Taking a year off to refresh the brain would really help the students to decide on their future life. The graduated high school students should not be forced to attend college because some students present financial problems, lack of motivation, and lack of interest. First, colleges are expensive. However, if all the humankind is going to performing the degree type work, then my question is who is going to be doing the labor work? What if there are plenty of computers in the society made by a person with a college degree, but no electrician (a person without a college degree) to make a use out of them. The technology would be worthless if there were no one to provide it to the people. In today’s society, it is too difficult to find an affordable and well-experienced carpenter or an electrician, whereas it is too simple to find those qualities in a Physician or a Lawyer (Murray 678). Some might also say that people have to attend college to get experience in certain things. On contrary, people can also get experience from the real world instead of the college. My uncle does not have a college degree in engineering, but he still knows more stuff about engineering than any enrolled freshman or sophomore engineering college students
