As a freshman, I thought no one would know who I was by the time I became a senior. From being involved in my school and community I have changed that idea. I think that I am the best candidate to qualify for this scholarship because I am a very hard working and driven student. I have had many academic achievements and have been very involved. I believe I am deserving of this scholarship because I have spent many hours of studying to get where I am today. In other words, to be a humanitarian is to care about life and help make a change for the betterment of life in general for the general populace or even a specified group that required the help. Being a Link crew leader not only taught me how to be a leader but, it help me have faith in myself and to always look up to younger people. I choose to challenge myself by taking honors and AP classes. I can overcome obstacles that stand in my way and persevere through tough problems. It can be in regards to finding the right location that feels similar to home, finding a group to fit in, or simply finding the transiting balance to adulthood. College can be a real emotional test to get towards the finish line of success. However, I would not trade my college experience for anything. I want to make it across the finish line. My determination grew each day as new challenges stood before me. I wanted the best not only for myself , but also for the people around me. I knew that everyone was battling a hardship in their lives and my goal was to give back to people. I have participated in after school clubs that built up my leadership skills,conferences that have shaped who I am today, that have built up my character . I have not only helped others, but I have learned from helping them .
These experiences have afforded me opportunities to demonstrate my gifts and talents that had previously gone undiscovered. Through different community service opportunities, I either learned something new about myself or I was reassured something. These qualities include that I am creative, reliable, open-minded, passionate, and an effective team player. Community service changed my life by developing my character through enhancing my transferable skills, which allowed me to see the world differently. Everyone, from all walks of life, needs to in some way, shape, or form give back to the community because it will not only benefit the less fortunate but it will benefit the volunteers as well. Additionally, I learned about the wide variety of resources available to help the community. There are so many resources out there that people are ignorant to like certain shelters and food banks. Ultimately, community service taught me the greatest gift I could ever receive, how to be
