Imagine spending hours on an important homework assignment due as soon as you walk into class the next day, and then go in to find students that were absent have an unlimited amount of time to complete it. Students should not be allowed an unlimited amount of time to make up or complete missing assignments because it is unfair to other students, a management issue for teachers, and is a necessary life skill to be able to get work done on time. If students that were absent from school were allowed unlimited time to complete their work, then it would be incredibly unfair to other students. If a student is given a day to complete an assignment, then it should be no different for any other student that receives the same assignment, whether they were absent or not. It would be impossible for a teacher to be able to keep up with work if one student turns it in, then three weeks later, five other students turn the same assignment in. It will also become more difficult for teachers to manage which students need more assistance due to the varying times assignments are being received. The management issues caused by students having unlimited time to turn in incomplete assignments would not be worth it in the long run. In life, there are always going to be deadlines. Being able to get work or assignments done before a deadline is an essential skill for everyone to have, even for adults. Therefore, it is necessary for students to learn to handle deadlines now. If students are given an unlimited amount of time to complete assignments, then they will struggle with their future jobs. This also becomes an issue if a student wishes to go to college. College professors and bosses will not be lenient with deadlines, so having them now will assist students in the
