When Adolf Hitler was appointed to be Chancellor of Germany in 1933, there was the ability to move the National Socialist party forward and gain momentum. The Nazi party held many ideals that were important and specific to the party. They had strived to achieve a pure German race without and “flaws.” To be able to gain the momentum and publicity, the Nazi’s used propaganda to get the ideals of the party to the people. Through the propaganda and radio broadcasting the Nazi party was able to convince the general population, basically brainwashing them, to create a unified Germany.

I believe that Goebbels wanted to create a ministry that is double sided, and has two stories. I just depends what side you hear it from, the truth that he receives or the embellished stories that the ministries put out to manipulate the population to think the way that they would like. He is candid when he talks about how it must be intriguing to the listener of viewer of the propaganda for the importance of capturing the attention.
The Nazi party is notorious for using lots of propaganda. And once they came into power, there was only more room for the full extent of the propaganda to be used, both within the country and internationally. This manipulation of the press was a track to keep the people appeased with the idea that the war was in their favor. The press was a way to blind the public to the actual happenings of the war front. These newspapers were not only just being printed within Germany, the ministry would also put out statements internationally that would report of the conditions of Germany better than they actually were. Since the citizens thought that the country was in a much better situation than it was in reality, many people believed to have “beautiful childhood[s].” Many citizens of the third reich were able to be immune to the pain and suffering to the surrounding them. They celebrated christmas and new years with little thoughts to the war surrounding them. Since they had been told that all is okay, the population thought that it is acceptable to celebrate the holidays and be joyus.
