Throughout the reading, Socrates has been seen to be defending and contradicting his own words constantly. Despite what he has claimed or said, they all in the end were taken towards the opposite way. He once even claimed that he does not need to defend himself, yet without him realizing what he is actually doing. He is defending himself and making himself acceptable towards the accusers.
Accusers have stated that his teachings are demonic towards the youth, "Thereupon, those examined by them are angry at me, not at themselves, and they say that Socrates is someone most disgusting and that he corrupts the young." And his answers to them are that he is not wise enough to teach and he is not getting paid. Means that for anybody to teach another, they would either need to be smart or employed. Which goes to shows that his claim is not true because nobody is required with a degree or teaching credential to make an impact on another human being’s life. It …show more content…

Calling everybody around him idiots and that they do not know anything as mentioned, “That is why even now I still go around seeking and investigating in accordance with the god any townsman or foreigner I suppose to be wise. And whenever someone does not seem so to me, I come to the god’s aid and show that he is not wise.” Which shows that what he said about himself, means that he is giving himself full credits on teaching the youth. But then he argues back that the youth were merely just going with their own opinions to be learning from him. And he had no intentions to have made an impact on their lives and thinking. It seems that what he says are all unreliable and are just to save him from getting into trouble.
