Recommended: Passion in life essay
When the word passion comes to mine, the first word that many people associated the word passion with is love or desire. The word passion can take on many forms and have multiple meanings depend on the situation it is used in. According to the Merriam-Webster Encyclopedia, passion is described as any powerful or compelling emotion or feeling, as love or hate. A strong affectionate feeling or desire (“Passion”). For me, passion takes on several meanings. Passion is having an undying love for another person. Passion is having a purpose in life. The feeling of passion does not have to only have to relate to another human being; it can be viewed as a feeling of enthusiasm and excitement toward an activity, hobby, or item as well.
The word passion comes from the Latin word “pati,” which means to suffer or endure (“Passion”). I found it ironic that the word passion originated from this. Many would not think that to suffer or endure was the literal meaning of the word passion. However, for many of us, we think of the word passion as having a strong sense of emotion feeling or connection to...
The Aqedah as narrated in Genesis serves as a prefigurement to the Passion of Jesus Christ. There are great typological similarities in these two narratives, but in the Gospel we find the reality of truth, Jesus, who is the completion and fulfillment of the type modeled by Abraham in the Aqedah.
I give in. My passion for writing is growing larger and larger each day, it has become the only thing I think about on a daily basis. It’s turning into a nuisance! I curse it to the back of my head every time it comes to fore thought. It twists my guts into an almost wrenching pain when I don’t have the chance to write something down on a piece of paper and make it my own. It forces the air from my chest as if I were a cartoon character with an anvil flattened. Where did I get this from, you ask? Let me tell you a story that explains my passion. Sit back, and enjoy the ride.
Love, an intense, deep feeling of connection, romantic, or sexual attachment showing affection for someone or something. As for all pleasant emotions, the feeling that comes with love is exquisitely satisfying. It feels like a cool, , long drink of water when you are parched on a hot day, it it refreshing. Scientists have a pretty good idea of what love does to the brain. Being in love floods the brain with chemicals and hormones that produce feelings of pleasure, obsession and attachment. Neuroscientists divide love into three phases: lust, attraction and attachment. During the lust phase, hormones flood the body with feelings of intense desire. Adrenaline and norepinephrine make the heart race and the palms sweat, while the brain chemical
Goals and desires require an individual to be motivated to move from one state of being to the next. This motivation encompasses the emotional, cognitive, social, and biological drives that trigger behavior. Accordingly, the word motivation befalls the frequently used description of why an individual achieves a goal, and the word motivation comes from the Latin word movere, which means “to move.” Therefore, motivation stands as the state that “moves” an individual to behave in certain ways. For example, when a person is relaxing on the beach on a warm summer day and begins to feel hot, the physical need to cool down might cause a person to stand up, go to the water for a dip. If the heat is great enough, the person might even leave the beach
Early in Horney's essay, she defines passion and discusses why it is rare. People do not feel safe putting all of their faith and trust in only one other person. Horney explains that self-preservation is part of human instinct, and people have a fear of losing themselves in their loved one.
Patrick Combs' talks about how important it is for one to admit their interests and what they enjoy doing in life in order to acheive success and determine their passions. Throughout his book I noticed that he often reffers to the importance of following passions and dreams. Combs describes passions as "the greatest treasures you'll ever find." Combs' tells the reader that they must determine what they enjoy doing. Combs' teaches that one can find their intereest by using their "built in compass," and trusting their emotions. Once their interests are found the next step is pinpoint their true aspirations.
...or expression of desires and needs. Passion is not necessarily stable in relationships it can’t be controlled but you can feel how much you are feeling for someone. The final component is decision/commitment which can be a short term commitment, the decision to love a particular person or a long term commitment which is the decision to stay with someone over the long term. We control the amount of commitment we have in a relationship which is important in a long term relationship (Feenstra, 2011).
According to Sternberg, in a relationship, if passion is the only thing present, then the couples are experiencing infatuation. This could lead to an affair or one-night stands. Passionate love is based on drive. Passion is considered the “hot” component because of someone feeling strong arousal for their partner. With the element of passion comes sexual desire, but it's not all about being physical. It also has to deal with expressing feelings of nurture, superiority, compliance, and
What is happiness? People have agonized over this question for centuries. Let me start this essay by answering a somewhat easier question: what isn’t happiness? Happiness is NOT feeling good all the time. Happiness is a combination of human emotions and states of mind. Exploring this state of being has consumed the philosophical minds of the ages and will continue to do so for ages to come.

Trying new things and seeing new things with significant other can help establish passion Based on Sternberg’s triangular theory of love consummate is basically the goal of love, and not everyone achieve it but, each person having a relationship in their lives that can be defined other one of seven components in Sternberg 's triangular theory of love. Love is not easily defined because, it hard to describe exactly how someone may feeling about their significant other. Love is different for different individuals and are interpreted differently in when looking from culture from culture. Love has been shown by many to be hard to define but, in Sternberg 's theory described the broad term of love by defining relationships. In relationship with other we find three components give or take and, with those components we define a relationship on. When comes to friendship the goal is companionate love, to have someone be there for you through it all. In romantic relationship the goal is to have consummate love with person you choose to be with and hope for to stay with longer
Passionate love is based on drive. Couples in passionate love feel physically attracted to each other. Sexual desire is typically a component of passionate love. Passionate love is not limited to sexual attraction, however. It is a way for couples to express feelings of nurture, dominance, submission, self-actualization, etc![4] Passionate love is considered the "hot" component of love because of the strong presence of arousal between two people. Sternberg believed that passionate love will diminish as the positive force of the relationship is taken over by opposite forces. This idea comes from Solomon's opponent-force theory[5]!
Passion for Family, Community, Business, Technology and Intellectual growth are what motivate me on the daily basis. These are vital parts that have contributed to framing me into the person I’ve become. They have also shaped my short-term and long-term goals in life. It’s critical for one to have a vision for their life and what they anticipate to accomplish. Without a vision or desire there is no hope for one to continue and to purse anything. My experiences with in my passions have helped me aligned my vision for my life. They have given me the valuable knowledge that have set me up for success to get to this point in life.

My strong interests in music, good food, and the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom may seem broad, but they are the essentials for my aspiration in life. These passions are the incentives of how to be a happier and more successful person for me to become.
