Amistad, fact or fiction, that is the question at hand. As trying to find out what in the movie Amistad, and trying to figure out what had actually happened. The Amistad was a slave ship that had got slaves from Cuba. Some of the slaves that had got on that ship, were brought to Cuba by the Tecora, and one of those slaves being Joseph Cinque. In the life of Joseph Cinque, the movie was pretty dead on with what had actually happened. For example, when Cinque was captured by the other African Americans and had been sold to the Spanish, that had actually happened. Then all of the ships and stuff, like the Tecora, where Cinque had been transported after being captured by the other African Americans, then Cinques home tribe of the Mendi were a real tribe. Also as the Tecora ship that had held Cinque had stopped in Havana, Cuba, had switched ships and then Cinque was on the ship, The La Amistad. …show more content…

As Calhoun was discussing how much better the south was with the person there representing the Spanish, nobody else was eating besides them. With John Calhoun, his history in movie is pretty accurate as well. I'm sure there are some flaws, but over all, I believe that in the movie, it is pretty accurate. Overall, the movie The Amistad was pretty accurate. There are some flaws to Spielberg's movie, but nothing's always perfect. He had some parts that were almost dead on like the role of Joseph Cinque. Then there are also other roles that were complete fiction like Theodore Joadson. There is always going to be a flaw or two in some movies. The Amistad movie was a very good movie overall and it was accurate. The characters and the actors playing the people were amazing.
