To ask me to write down my values is like asking me to spill my soul onto a paper. What do I value? Well I value truth, I value friendship, I value happiness… The list can go on and on but it all falls under the same category- I value my faith and I value my religion. I value the Torah and that is what I live my life according to. I would need way too many pages to expand upon every single value in the Torah so I am going to focus on a select few. Speech is something I, along with many other people, take for granted. We drone on and on about people and things that don 't matter instead of using our speech to lift the spirits of others or ourselves. I value my parents who love me and my siblings who fight with me, I value my grandmothers who shower me with gifts and my grandfather who showers me with love. I value the big smile I get from my mother in the morning and I value the sweet smell of food cooking on the stove at night. I value shelter, and I value the blessing I have to have a home along with a bed to sleep and pillows to sleep on. I value my neighbors who are all a part of the community I live in, and I value my community. A true friend is someone who cares, someone who’s here for me at any and every hour of the night, someone who helps, someone I can trust, and someone who can cheer me up when I’m sad. A true friend only comes around once in a while and without proper value and appreciation for her she may be gone before I know it. A true friend is someone to be yourself in front of, someone who knows everything about you and still wants to be your friend through it all. Everyone has their own personal values that the gain throughout their lives. Some of these values are passed down through the different generations of their family. Values can change over time and some people learn more values as they grow up. I personally have gained a range of different values in the past eighteen years of my life. My own values include: respect, honesty, empathy and trust. I gained the value of respect through my parents as I was always told to show respect to others and they would then show me respect back. What is your definition of a true friend? Well, to me, a true friend is someone who understands you, accepts you for who you are, and is willing to do anything for you. This quote is very special since it tells you that many will leave but you will know who the true ones are . Personal Values depends on where you come from, who you are as a person and your culture. Everything we go through and we experience our beliefs all depend on what we have been through in our lives. Life impacts every person from a different perspective and that specific perspective is how you view your life and the things that occur in it. As a future educator I want everything that I am impacted with that involves sexism, racism, prejudice and illegal immigration I will observe and handle with an open mind. It is all about perspective.
Values in my opinion should determine your priorities, and they’re probably the measures, you use to tell if your life is turning out the way you want it to. Knowing your own values can help you make decisions about how to live your life. The values that I believe in play a very important role in my life. These important values have been greatly influenced by my family and life experiences. The second value that my parents have taught me is respect. They taught me to treat others with respect and to treat others the way you want to be treated. This shaped my life in tremendous ways. It made me learn how to have manners and kept me out of trouble as a kid. If I was respectful to my teachers and friends then I would grow up to be well mannered. A friend is someone difficult to find. A friend is someone you can always count on when times are tough. The dictionary's definition of a good friend is a person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal regard. A good friend is there when you are struggling. For example, when a boy breaks your heart a good friend walks you through it and offers a shoulder to cry on. According to Bree Neff, a good friend is someone who is trustworthy, doesn't talk behind your back, listens to your problems, gives good advice and tries to lend humor along with his or her support. There are also bad friends, those who pretend to care and then turn around gossiping and starting drama. Good and bad friends are all around you, involved in your everyday life. To find good friends you should look for such traits as being kind, trustworthy, loyal and dependable.
The value I chose, that I cherish most in my life is the value of kindness. Kindness is, “The quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate.” (Google definition) As like anything in this world, there are positives and there are negatives when it comes to kindness. Kindness is such a positive word you would think there would be no drawbacks that come along with it but, there truly is. Positives of kindness, it makes yourself feel good to be kind as well it makes others feel good, this relates to the definition because if you are friendly, generous and considerate it shows you are a genuine person full of kindness.
