Jesus is one of the most influential historical figures in our society. Not only is he the foundation of one of the largest global religions but he is also the basis of various different religious interpretations. There are various different interpretations of Jesus but something that remains constant is that his deeds, words and impact were extraordinary. The study of Jesus is known as Christology. It is an in depth analysis of the various aspects of Jesus that includes synthesising his actions, words, attributes, and nature and impact on society at the time. One of the most fundamental concepts that can be attributed to Jesus is the concept of Logos. Logos is defined as the word of God, one of the most fundamental ideas of Christianity. Although this is the dictionary definition of Logos, Pope Benedict XVI (Cardinal Ratzinger) characterized this idea differently. Cardinal Ratzinger states that Logos is the originating power of all being. Essentially this means that Logos is the original thought, something that has been around before anything else was conceived or thought about. There seems to be a type of primacy revolving around Logos, like it transcends logic and mathematical proofs. This miracles was incredibly impactful because of two reasons: the first is because he healed a man with a contagious disease and secondly because lepers were outcasts of society.
