The Advantages and Disadvantages of Easily Obtainable Information
It is said that too much of anything, even if it's good and positive can turn into something bad and information is no exception to this rule. Once news and information became easily accessible to everyone via the world wide web the way we learn and gather information changed as a whole. Instant information anytime, anywhere, and about anything has degraded our ability for that information to stick. This can become too much all at once and you find yourself looking up the same subject several times for the same answer.

New, everywhere, scary, three of the best words to describe it. Before the integration of social media into our daily lives people met new people mostly by going out of their house, friends of friends, events, and random encounters. Not unlike the ability for instant information in the previous discussion, it seems the ability for instant friends in large numbers has watered down the experience as a whole and made it less special. Staying ahead, and general knowledge of something as new as social media can be a huge advantage. When either a person or a company happens to be a step or two ahead of everyone else on the latest social bandwagon it can bring great success.
The problem is though, if you don't do it right. Branding, information gathering, staying ahead, improper networking, can all come back and make things much worse. Lost profits, coming off wrong, uncool, or a multitude of other issues can arise from foreknowledge. Knowing everything can be great but don't be arrogant about it.
Knowing too much can also cause the opposite for some people. Once some users start to recognize social cues, cliques, trends, etc it can either ruin the surprise or just end up making the user paranoid and afraid to interact with anyone new.
Credibility Issues That Can Arise from Information On the Internet
Social media in the age of instant information can be a nasty combination. Once someone knows too much, either about a situation or individual, it can become too much to handle. Marriages ruined, jobs lost, friendships destroyed, the list goes on. These situations arise usually due to a misunderstanding or user error. At times, this can be too much for some
