Michelle Nguyen Green English 4 December 6, 2016 Werewolf rough draft Werewolves are legendary shape-shifting humans that take on the shape of a wolf. Werewolves are believed to be the oldest legend of human monster in history. Like witches, werewolves were hunted and people were tried for being accused of being a werewolf. Most people accused of being a werewolf were also tied to crimes of rape, murder, and cannibalism. People have questioned if these people were persecuted for these crimes or of actually being a werewolf. The first recorded werewolf sighting was in a small German town, when a group of villagers saw a big wolf in a field and had their dogs attack it. Instead of it running away, the wolf stood up and was a man named Peter Stubbe who lived in the same village. Stubbe was then tortured and confessed to 16 crimes. He had allegedly practiced sorcery and had made a pact with the Devil. He said that he used a magic girdle to go into a wolf form. His need for human flesh grew and he hunted more prey. Now while casual sex is not innately a bad thing, a culture that prioritizes sex over love is. As the line between sex and love gets more ambiguous so too does the line between a healthy and unhealthy relationship. Adolescents who constantly absorb sexual media at a young age are more likely to accept a hook up culture as their own. This can lead to young adults with limited romantic relationship experiences to accept hookup culture as the normal. The worst part is that these people are often self fulfilling prophecies. They think that none of their peers are dating and feel that hookups are often their only choice. Not only that but they see the instant gratification that sex can bring and choose to obsess over it.
