The Mexican American War: moral or immoral
Thousands of lives were lost in the hands of those who decided to go to war for the intent of greed and beliefs that were never right in the first place. The Mexican and American war was a battle fought between two growing counties that ended up killing many innocent people and quite possibly ruining both countries' relationship in the end. Even Though America ended up gaining most of its land mass in the war, the war itself was unjust due to the behavior of the Texans, the intent of growing slavery, and the instigated massacre of the U.S. soldiers in the disputed territory.

According to Benjamin Lundy, the Texas revolution was a slaveholders’ plot to take Texas from Mexico and add slave territory to the united state's. In a pamphlet written by Lundy, he states “the immediate cause and main goal of this war-led by the slaveholders of this country...has been to grab the large and valuable territory of Texas from the Mexican republic, in order to re-establish the system of slavery; to open a vast and profitable slave market; and, ultimately, to annex it to the united states.” this shows the idea that the US intended to have a war with Mexico in order to own more land and profit from it. Not only are the united states intentions greedy, but immoral to many slaves that have escaped to Mexico in order to escape slavery. In the pamphlet, lundly also mentions “we have been asked to believe that the inhabitants of Texas have been fighting to maintain the sacred principles of liberty, and the natural, inalienable rights of Man...their motives have been exactly the opposite.” lundy is referring to the idea that the people living in Texas weren't fighting with Mexico just because of the principle of liberty, but that they were actually fighting in order to re-establish slavery and make a profit out of
