WHAT I HAD TO DO: We had to create a program that would read the users
input, process it and display the results. HOW I CREATED THE PROGRAM:
For this tutorial I used lblrpompt, txttemperature, cmdctof, cmdftoc,

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN
INTRODUCTION
I have been asked to prepare a personal report that addresses my
approach to learning and provides a reflective account of my
experiences, of carrying out a series of programming activities. The
report that I will be creating is a reflection upon my collective and
collaborative activities, working in a group.
WEEK 3 INTRODUCTION TO PROGRAMMING AND VISUAL BASIC
DIGITAL CLOCK
11th to 17th October
WHAT I HAD TO DO:
We had to interactively design a digital clock program. The program
had to be designed in a way for objects to respond to events.
HOW I CREATED THE PROGRAM
I used a label to display the system time in, as the requirement was
to program objects to respond to events.
I used a label called lblToday because labels are containers for
programs-generated messages. They have properties such as name,
caption, font etc. I defined my label with the name lblToday so that I
could show the correct date at the time at runtime by typing out the
instruction lblToday.Caption=Time$.
As the time would not change if I displayed the time on form_load I
had to find an object from the tool box which looked like a clock and
then I put it onto my form.
I then changed the interval property to 1000, this was to indicate
1000 milliseconds. I also did this for the default event for the time
object and then displayed the time in my label.
MY PROBLEMS AND HOW I OVERCAME THEN
Designing a digital clock program using visual basic was a very
challenging but interesting task for me as I had never come across
using visual basic. At first I found it a bit of a struggle to get
used the program and how to use it appropriately. Even though the
notes that were given were quite clear and when I read them I thought
that creating the program would be easy, however when I put the notes
into practice I found it quite hard. The task was quite confusing
especially the coding and getting it correct, because if there was
even a slight error the program would not run successfully. Another
problem I faced whilst designing this program was that when I put the
timer onto the form and ran the program the timer would not display
correctly. So in order to solve my problems I consulted my group and

The questioning from Clarisse has lead Montag to a loss of self. Clarisse, Montag’s new neighbor, starts a conversation with him. Clarisse has a different personality than the other people Montag knows at the fire station. She is very outgoing, likes nature, and is not into vacant socializing. When Clarisse asks about Montag’s job, she says that Montag is a fireman without the typical fireman qualities. Then she asks “Are you happy?”(14) Clarisse runs away into the moonlight...

Throughout the Ancient Greek world, there have been many wars and standoffs. However, there has been only one which changed the course of Greek history forever; the Peloponnesian War. Caused by the growing tension between Athens and Sparta, it came and left, leaving only destruction in its wake. The defeat of Athens in the Peloponnesian War caused the downfall of Greece, and the end of the Classical Age.

In this essay, I am going to anaylise the Peloponnesian War. I will look at what appears to have caused the war, how it developed, and what the outcome of it was. As Thucydides is virtually the only surviving primary source of this event, I will also discuss the man and his method.
In Thucydides’ opening, he believed that the war against Athens and the Peloponnesians was going to be a great war that it would be a fundamental event proceeding all other wars for the past and future. Beginning to understand the Peloponnesian War, how it started and who was blamed, it is important to understand the Athenians. Athens was a city-state of art, philosophy and great power. With great power and influence, arrogance also followed. Greece had just finished eighteen years prior with their war against the Persians. The Greeks had strengthened in numbers, and the Athens was at the top of all other city-states. The Athenians were the first to lay aside their weapons, and to adopt an easier and more luxurious mode of life; indeed, it
Electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) are battery operated heating devices that work by turning nicotine into vapor that is inhaled to emulate smoking tobacco but without the harsh toxic chemicals attributed with smoking cigarettes. The liquid nicotine substance inserted in the e-cigarettes is primarily a solution of water, propylene glycol, glycerin, and small amounts of flavoring, available with or without nicotine that is vaporized by an internal heater (Popova 924). Furthermore, the amount of nicotine can be adjusted from nicotine free to extra strength. This allows users to control their amount of nicotine with the most promising option to be nicotine free or detached from the tobacco imitating device. E-cigarettes can be practically taken anywhere. Most are designed to resemble the typical cigarette and others may appear in a pen-like shape. Not to mention, the cost of e-cigarettes are relatively low compared to buying tobacco products. Given these points, e-cigarettes is a better solution to the discontinuance of smoking tobacco because it does not contain toxic chemicals associated with the smoke from cigarettes, it is a more affordable, and permits its users to control their nicotine intake to eventually curb the nicotine
There are various kinds of definitions about what data mining is. The authors in [1] define data mining as “the process of extracting previously unknown information from (usually large quantities of) data, which can, in the right context, lead to knowledge”. Data mining is widely used in areas such as business analysis, bioinformatics analysis, medical analysis, etc. Data mining techniques bring us a lot of benefits. Business companies can use data mining tools to search potential customers and increase their profits; medical diagnosis can use data mining to predict potential disease. Although the term “data mining” itself is neutral and has no ethical implications, it is often related to the analysis of information associated with individuals. “The ethical dilemmas arise when data mining is executed over the data of an individual” [2]. For example, using a user’s data to do data mining and classifying the user into some group may result in a variety of ethical issues. In this paper, we deal with two kinds of ethical issues caused by data mining techniques: informational privacy issues in web-data mining and database security issues in data mining. We also look at these ethical issues in a societal level and a global level.
Cardiovascular fitness can also be known as cardiovascular endurance, aerobic fitness and cardiovascular respiratory fitness. In order to increase your cardiovascular conditioning you have to practice active high energy activities or active sporting activities which can be of enough intensity for getting your heartbeat into your target heart rate zone.
