Structured Programme Agreement
WBS 4810, Programme Planning
1. Proposed Award Title:
MSc Work Based Learning Studies (Website Design and Programming)
2. Rationale for Proposed Specialised Work / Practice Title
This WBS title award is consistent with my current role as the Worldskills UK Project leader and a lecturer of Developing Websites and creating event-driven computer programs within my organization. Most significantly, it is of a personal interest because it will significantly increase my expertise to the advantage of both my students and my organization.
The coursework and final project will require me to develop essential teaching and learning skills for web design and creating event driven computer programs. I am confident that the project will give me in-depth understanding of Web Design and Programming thinking and will make me more aware of the highly developed concepts of IT.
3. Overview of the Programme Context and Learning Requirements
I currently work as a lecturer in the College of North West London in the Faculty of Computing, Maths, Business and Science (CoMBs), within the faculty I work under the School of Computing and Business. Some of my responsibilities are preparing learning materials, teaching Web Design and Programming units, which involves Developing Multimedia and creating computer programs. This course will help me develop the necessary skills to be able to support learners based on their individual needs, develop Combined SOW and Planner for each unit to be prepared and printed for learners as part of their course handbook as hard copies, those course handbook and other material will also be available to students, team members and course leaders as electronic copies on Moodle under the relev...

... that I have and those of my employer or members of staff. Also participants’ rights that I have to consider which fall under Data Protection Act (1998). By writing my learning agreement I can confirm that I have managed to develop better planning and organisational skills that I can implement and use to “support learning through work at higher education level” (Middlesex University, 2012).
I also believe that I have intellectually furthered myself by developing the required knowledge and skills. As mentioned above the learning agreement including constructive feedback from my module leader and work colleagues gave me the chance to document out my past and current learning experiences. Therefore, my final project will be well documented and well written as I have been able to improve my effective and reflective writing knowledge and skills throughout the project.

The projects or tasks associated with the optional topics incorporate the core topics listed below: C1- Design Produce and Evaluate, C2-Data Handling, C3-Hardware, C4- Issues, C5-Past, Current and Emerging Technologies, C6-People, and C7-Software. The prefix C1-C7 identifies the core topic and would be used in the chart to the show the link between the course and the prescribed syllabus Wales ("Information and Software Technology Years 7–10: Advice on Programming and Assessment", 2003, p. 6). The expected outcomes are listed as numerical identifiers of stage 5 outcomes taken from the Information and Software Technology Years 7–10: Syllabus (2003, p. 12-13) document. For example, outcome 5.2.1 in term1 of year 9 points to “describes and applies problem-solving processes when creating solutions” of stage 5 outcomes (Information and Software Technology Years 7–10: Syllabus, 2003).

According to (Collin et al 2012), CPD is a diverse and multifaceted subject because all formal and informal learning and development within and outside their work place can be termed as CPD. Similarly, APM 2008 classified CPD activities in project management into (i) Formal CPD activities and (ii) Informal CPD activities; some of which are summarized in table 1 below:
There are several milestones that our society uses to measure personal development and suitability for advancement to higher degrees of social responsibility. One such milestone is career selection and attainment. Some individuals may never find a satisfying vocation, whereas others know what they desire from the day they can communicate. A simple way to reduce the unfortunate friction of choosing a career is to be self-aware. Understanding what makes one happy, fulfilled, and the things that are important to them, is the easiest way to narrow down the world’s endless possible occupations and ensure job satisfaction. There are many ways to gain personal enlightenment, perhaps the simplest and most effective way is to take a course geared towards career development.
...ersonal voice. By the second essay I had begun to develop a sense of myself. I started to break away from the repetitive tone of the first paper, and express myself as an individual through my writing. Additionally, I was able to create a stronger paper by learning how to use sources to better effect. Despite the progress I had made during the second paper, I feel as though the third paper didn’t really show additional growth from the second. However, by writing assignment number four I really felt like I had hit my stride in the class. Everything I had learned previously came together to help me fully express my views on education to my audience. This final essay has allowed me to reflect on my own process of growth in the course. From this point I can see that the skills I have developed in this course are going to be essential in succeeding in college and beyond.
It focuses on understanding the learner and their needs and not just on a problem to fix. When working on a new course the designer has a defined roadmap of where to start and how to go through the process until the end. This is useful for instructional designers because there are no questions about what to do next. Since technology is built into the design, this is a strong format for designing an online course. The learner will have opportunities to participate and use active learning throughout the class as well.
After completing seven assessments for this module, I do feel that I have learned a lot, and will discuss this in-depth.
Continuing professional development (CPD) means that professionals participate in learning activities to further improve the quality of their learning and develop their abilities and to update their learning continuously. It enables them to set goals and work to achieve them, so going above and beyond any initial training. "It’s the means by which you can maintain and enhance your knowledge and skills to complement both your current role and your future career progression". Resources are designed to support us as teachers to plan, deliver and assess our teaching and lesson delivery. All the materials and books, a variation and diversification of approaches, resources used for different learning styles, in order to meet the needs of all my students were contributing to the professional development and continuing education. Preparing visual prompts to stimulate, the use of colour in my slides, always helped to stimulate the interest and emphasise the key points in my teaching. However, computer-based technology, provided opportunities to develop ICT skills. Thus, through class sessions and little practice students were developing skills to use it, and create professionally looking and visually stimulating slides. As teachers, we must be willing to encourage our students to become active participants in their learning, creating opportunities to actively engage all
The core courses will help me strengthen my knowledge and competencies needed to design and implement interactive computing systems that benefit humans. The flexibility of the program will allow me choose electives that matches my interest. The elective, Designing User Experiences for Internet-enabled Devices has captivated me the most. I find user interface enhancement, game designing, creating rich multimedia experiences and mobile application development really interesting and I also find the courses related to website development enthralling. I aspire to acquire the ability to understand human psyche and how humans react to new methods of technology. The program will give me platforms to explore these areas of my
Abstract: Recently, there has been a rush to create web-based instructional courses. The approach that is being taken to create web-based courses is to create websites that will function as the central distributors of information and materials. Based on the format and content of the course, the student is to go through lesson by lesson to complete courses. In this paper, I address some of the problems inherent in this approach, especially with respect to 18-22 year-old undergraduate education.
