In response to the research report, this draft outlines my basic blueprint to research bicycle rental system. The research will lead to the recommendation of building a bicycle rental transportation system in Vancouver.

Introduction

From today to the future year 2030, it is appropriate to estimate that Vancouver population will increase by more than one million. Vancouver public transportation will hardly bear the pressure due to the largely increase in population. Other than population pressure, the public transportation is criticised by huge carbon emissions as well. For sharing the responsibility of Translink, it is necessary to build the bicycle rental system as a supplement of sky train and bus.

The business idea is to establish several bicycle rental loops near the sky train stations, down town and universities. People can lease and turn back bicycle in any rental stations nearby. For attracting more and more customers to use this new type of public transportation, the system can only charge at a low price.

Thus, one of the major problems is how to continue running the bike system at a low price. One of the best solutions is generating profit from advertising on stations and bicycles. The other major problem is the possibility of using electronic device to prevent stealing and other damages. The details of this new business model will expose in the formal report.

Research

Vancouver public bike system initially it was "the last section of the road" trip, but I believe with the increase in the number of outlets and bikes, renting and returning bicycles has become more convenient thus, more and more people will ride bicycles. First, the system should have several centre bicycle stations at centers of Vancouver city pub...

... have the single-use time less than 1 hour, which will charge for very low fees. With the network expanding and the rapidly increasing number of bicycles, advertising adsorption ability will grow. The company plans to auction its advertising rights in the future, for the introduction of professional partners. Unexpectedly, the company also can generate earnings from technology. It can sell its technology such as electronic locks and other research and development patents to other cities if they want to build the same systems.

Conclusion

With the model of government guidance and enterprise operations, the bicycle rental systems will successfully operating in Vancouver for a long time in near future. This report analyses and proves the new business ideal. The rental system will benefit people in Vancouver from relieving pressures of Trans link and carbon emissions.
