What specific problems does Ball identify that ultimately would make U.S. escalation in Vietnam unsuccessful? Some of the problems Ball identifies that could ultimately make U.S. escalation in Vietnam unsuccessful is because battling on their land is a set up because they know their land better than anyone else and U.S. would have to fight on their terms because that's their homeland. Another problem would be the fighting tactics, they are old and would lose instantly with those tactics if they tried it with Vietnam. But Vietnam was also lacking in cooperation with U.S. forces which would make it hard to advance in their society, all of those examples are the reasons why the U.S. escalation in Vietnam is unsuccessful.
