The Truth Behind Shark Attacks Imagine you are out swimming in the ocean, and you all of sudden feel something grab your foot and pull you under. You try not to panic, but realize that you are being attacked by a shark. Why did this shark decide to attack a human? Some causes that people think why sharks attack humans are, that the shark misidentifies its prey or is it that the shark is curious by nature. These are some common causes that come to people’s mind when they think of shark attacks, but are these causes actually true? Many people think that one cause of a shark attack is that they misidentifies its prey. This means that the shark sees the human, and thinks its a seal or other prey. You hear many people say that sharks, especially attack surfers because they look like seals when they are sitting on their surfboard. A swimmer or surfer could be doing nothing wrong, and get attacked. They might have been in the wrong place at the wrong time. There is no clear solution to shark attacks because people still don’t know the most likely cause for shark attacks, so it’s hard to tell people what to do and what not to do when swimming in waters with possible sharks in the area. You can go with obvious solutions like don’t go in the water if you are bleeding.
