The great white shark is a very interesting animal. They get their names from their appearance. The great white shark is very big and has a blue stomach. The great white shark can be found in the pacific, Atlantic and Indian oceans. The number of great white sharks in the United States and in the world is unknown because it is too hard to keep track of all of them. They live in salt water and do not claim territories.
A great white shark can get anywhere from 12 inches to 60 feet long! They can also weigh anywhere from 150 lbs. to 3000 lbs. There is no difference between males and females. Great whites have six senses. Sight, smell, taste, touch, hearing and an Electro-Reception they get through the nose to communicate with other sharks! They can swim up to 35 mph and have 3,000 teeth in several rows.
You may think a great white shark is massive, but their ancestors would make them look like midgets in comparison. An ancient shark called Megalodon appeared on earth more than 20 million years ago. Based on fossils of their teeth, scientists are estimating that the Megalodon would be the size of a school bus! That’s big enough to feast on whales.
The Great white sharks sense of smell is better than a human. A great white shark could smell a drop of blood from at least 500 miles away! Their eyesight is not so good but when a great white shark is being attacked they roll their eyes to the back of their heads so they can protect them. Sharks have an ear stone that senses vibration in the water from over 100 miles away. Sharks are great hunters.
Great white sharks have internal fertilization. They also have internal development. Great whites are polygamous. They find mates by communicating by using their electro-reception. They hav...

Great whites are nothing but a threat to mankind. The world would be a better place without predators like the great white shark.
Great white sharks are the main predators in the ocean. The only things that are responsible for the deaths of sharks are Age, Health, Humans and other sharks. Humans are responsible for 70% of deaths for great white sharks. Today there are more than 440 known species of sharks. Great whites only have 2-12 babies at one time unlike others who have hundreds. Great whites can live up to 60 years old! Great white sharks are phenomenal animals and but still are vulnerable to extinction. Do your part to kill of the rest of them before they kill you!
