Out of the plays that we could have chosen to produce, I have decided to go with Molière’s, “Tartuffe.” This play is a comedy that comes from 17th century France and is heavily influenced by two large sources of experience for Molière. Those sources are the rules and structure for a play put in place by the French academy and the lessons of improvisation taught by the Commedia dell’Arte. This piece is written in fives acts that are in a unique alexandrine style of verse which have 12 syllables in a line and usually ends with rhyming words. The reason I chose this play is because, in my opinion, things like television, movies, plays, and other forms of media and entertainment are meant to transport you away from all the bad things happening in real life and focus you on something fun and/or interesting. I find this play to have a lot of fun moments that can be mined for even more comedy and I think it has the good chance to keep a large audience entertained for a long period of time. To accomplish my goal I will use elements of situational comedies, France in the 1660’s, and one of Molière’s plays, “A school for girls.”

The NCAA is considered amateur where the players are not paid, and the NBA is considered professional where players make millions of dollars. In order for the NBA to get their players they draft from the NCAA, but the rules have changed several times over the years that have permitted players to enter the NBA. The current rule states that NBA players must be one year removed from high school or 19 years of age (Article X, 2008), this rule is considered by many needing the most change.

The African serval has a very keen sense of hearing, which plays a crucial part in hunting for prey. As stated earlier, the serval has well developed ear bullae which are approximately 22 percent of the length of its head. This allows the serval to hunt its prey in tall grasses by listening to vibrations of rodents moving around. They are even able to hear rodents underground and will dig them up. Another feature of the African serval is its long slim legs that aid the cat in navigating through high grass and reed beds. Also, they have unusually large metacarpals that aid in its ability to leap 2 – 3 m in the air to catch, or pounce on prey.

Imagination has become important to the revolution of society and nature. John Tyndall, an Irish natural philosopher of the nineteenth century, believed that our mind and spirit must work together. Tyndall published his essay called “Scientific Use of the Imagination,” where it seems that it was written to validate his position on the scientific use of imagination and to persuade other scholars as science was expanding into universities. John Tyndall belief was that we need imagination to uncover the unseen things of nature. Tyndall’s idea is credible as he was a physicist, draftsman, and mathematician who integrates each one in his writing to demonstrate that we need freedom of thought to progress. He is effective by using deductive reasoning
