Travis Newman's caught a glimpse of something shinning on the ground as he walked down Parker street. He had been walking around town placing applications in various businesses for employment; he was exhausted. Picking the shining thing up he observed that it was a gold skeleton key. My lucky day he said to himself. But what would a gold key unlock.. Dropping the key into his shirt pocket he continued his walk down Parker street contemplated whether to sell the key quickly at the nearest pawn shop or try to find the person who lost it, just to find out what a gold key unlocks. When they arrived at residence; a small moderate white house on a corner lot with blue shutters,and a white picket fence.
"Wound you like to come in for some coffee?" She ask him.
"Yes, I would like that thanks." that would give him an opportunity to ask about the key.
"Have a seat please, I will be right back" she said as she made her way to the kitchen.
Travis sit down on a sofa. He casually glanced around the room. Pictures on the wall told him that she has a family; they were pictures of children, couples,obviously her adult children with her grand children he thought. Halfway down the hallway just left of the kitchen entrance he noticed a door. The hallway was dark but the keyhole to the door seemed to be emitting daylight, or a bright light. Mrs Harrison returned to the living room with a two cups of coffee. Travis took one of the cups and sipped from it.
"Can I ask you a question Miss Janis?"
"She looked at him with the old solemn eyes that he was almost hypnotic..
"Why, sure hope I can answer it"
"I am just carious; I do.hope I am not intruding on your privacy, please tell me if I am doing so."
