Hungry For Success They called me “a very hungry caterpillar.” I constantly wanted more. More dessert, more toys, more accessories...Was that so much to ask? I lay the blame on the 1969 classic story my mother used to recite to me every night of my infancy. In the beginning, it was the vibrant cartoon drawings that caught my 3-year old mind. In fact, that was the only reason I demanded to hear the story night after night. But it was this that made me long for more, when I already had exactly what I needed. As the years flew by, I grew a slight more stronger and a slight more wiser. I came to my senses and realized that I did indeed want to be this “hungry caterpillar,” but not in this way. As the book opens, the story begins. An egg that lays upon a leaf, hatches and a full grown caterpillar wriggles its way out to find himself in a new world with many opportunities. Similarly, the moment I arrived in this world, I knew I wanted to make a difference. As I reached about age 2, I found myself creating new words that seemed so intricate back then. On Sunday, the caterpillar now realizes he is not okay and that he needs to eat what real caterpillars are made to eat regardless if it makes him full or not. He does so by ingesting through a diverting green leaf. Alike this audacious creature, I reflected back on mistakes I have made in high school. Whether it was talking in class, finishing assignments just for say, and most importantly, being afraid to supply an incorrect answer. So in conclusion, I took a bite of the green leaf. I took a leap of faith and realized that I want to go far in life and be successful at whatever I choose. I was not going to let anyone bring me down and get in the way of my failure to success. From this moment forward, I was now a women. But let me tell you, the leaf was far from tasty, but it sure made it worth the digestion in the
