In 1947-1991 the soviets and the U.S. were at war to generally end communism. The cold war started after the arms race and the soviets were spreading into east Europe creating the iron curtain. The iron curtain was the name for the boundary dividing Europe into two seperate areas from the end of world war II in 1945 until the end of the Cold War in 1991. The U.S. is partly to blame because they founded the Europeans after WWII and deemed communism bad after the fought side-by-side in the war. the soviets are also to blame because they were trying to spread communism and they were trying to control all of Europe and put it under communist control. Stalin sees his Social System as the best ever and wants to spread the “great” Soviet social System “ The issue now is not whether the Soviet social system is viable or not, because after the object lessons of the war, no skeptic now dares to express doubt concerning the viability of the Soviet social system. Now the issue is that the Soviet social system has proved to be more viable and stable than the non-Soviet social system, that the Soviet social system is a better form of organization of society than any non-Soviet social system. The USSR is to blame because stalin forcefully wants to share what he believes is needed. The greek people are under a crisis and need the help from the United States, “ It is not a Greek crisis that we face, it is an American crisis. It is a crisis in the American spirit… Only the American people fully aroused promptly acting can prevent disaster.” The Soviets attack an united states ally which makes them responsible because they attacked first. The United States has claimed land in Europe an if that land is attacked the U.S. will respond will armed force if needed, “They agree that if such an armed attack occurs, each of them will assist the party or parties so attacked. Each will immediately take whatever action it considers necessary to restore and maintain the security of the North Atlantic area. It will, if necessary, use armed force.” The USSR stuck one of these U.S. countries thus starting war.
