Technology, The Good and The Bad Technology is it good or is it bad? How has it impacted our daily lives? These are the questions we must ask ourselves in society today. Advancements in medicine to how we get from point A to point B on a given day, imagine life without computers for a second. Could it be done? I have noticed people cannot sit at the dinner table anymore without their smartphone in hand. How could this affect society if technology was banned or ceased to exist? Technology offers risks and benefits. How we socialize and interact with one another has definitely been altered by technology. We now have chat rooms, emailing, texting and cellphones at our fingertips. When I was growing up letters had to be mailed. A hardwired home phone or in public the good old pay phone was required to make calls. What is the tradeoff we have to give for technology? Ray Kurzweil is an inventor, futurist, and an author. He wrote a non-fiction booked titled The Singularity Is Real which talks about artificial intelligence and the future of humanity. Our health is important to us as we strive to live longer and better lives. "Kurzweil argues that the transformation will take place gradually until we reach the year 2045" (Tadlock). Nanotechnology has the ability to help us stay healthier and cure diseases. How does this work? The process begins by Self-replicating nanobots which are introduced and dispersed into our bodies. This will then combine our natural bodies with robotics creating the new human body. He sees nanobots giving us the ability to eat whatever we want while still remaining fit and having an abundance of energy. He also states that they will have the ability to fight off infections or cancer, swap out organs and even augment our brains (Kurzweil 672). Clearly there are some serious benefits
