Many wars have happened in our Nation, but let’s go half way across the world and learn about a group named “The White Army.” They were military forces that participated in the Russian Civil War. This group was very different from others and due to those facts, they end up having a tragic loss.
Broadly speaking, the White armies were military forces that participated in the Russian Civil War. The White armies fought against the Bolshevik Red Army for control of Russia. Unlike the Bolsheviks the White armies did not share a single ideology, methodology or political goal. The forces led by Lenin and the Bolsheviks were called the “Red Army,” while forces opposed to him w ere termed White. The White forces received support from the Western Allies during the internal war. The United States, England and Canada had contingents of men inside of Russia initially to guard supplies they had sent during the war, but they were in a position to fight if their governments thought necessary. During the civil war, Lenin imposed War Communism to ensure victory. The results of these measures allowed the Reds to win the civil war, but caused horrible problems for the future. The idea of war communism began to receive opposition from communist themselves.
The Red Army won due to many factors that the White Army didn’t have. The Whites were disunited. They were a coalition of different enemies of the Bolsheviks. Trotsky, who was a brilliant war leader and strategist, had good tactics and strategies for the Red Army. The Bolshevik soldiers were enthusiastic ("The White Armies"). The Red Army outnumbered the White Army win thousands of soldiers, giving the Red’s an advantage. The White Army failed to communicate to each other during the war, making it difficult to understand each other and give out information on enemy’s
