The 2nd amendment allows U.S. citizens to have the right to bear arms. People have taken advantage of the 2nd amendment and have spun out of control. This uncontrollable action brought upon gun control laws. There are two main questions that always seem to be brought up when in a debate on gun control laws. Do guns necessarily lead to crime? And if so, can laws that place restrictions on firearm ownership and the use of firearms stop the crime or protect our citizens? There have been several acts and laws that were made for gun control. Each law and act varies from state to state and they are all constantly changing. All states have some form of restriction on buying guns. Statistics shows that when someone is carrying a gun for self-defense, they were 4.5 times more likely to be shot during an assault than an assault victim without a gun. Antigun supports believe that if states have tougher gun laws and stricter background checks, it can prevent easy access to guns, which can potentially prevent gun crimes. Statistics shows that in the past 30 years in United States, about three thirds of guns were obtained legally by killers. Another con of having a concealed weapon is that accidents can happen. For an example, a spouse might accidentally shoot the other, thinking that they are an intruder. Another example is that children are curious. They might go into their parents’ things, find the gun and use gun. They might accidently kill themselves or either others around them. People fear that if concealed carrying is allowed everywhere, this risk will go up. If the state gets rid all of the concealed carrying laws, means that the chances that someone who is unstable will be able to get a gun will rise. If this happens then they might carry that gun into a public space and begin killing innocent
