Loud, Aggressive, Hostile. This crowd of people will not be seen without another beside them. They enjoy walking around in a large group, known to them as a 'crew' or a 'gang' or a 'posse' there are many other names not listed, the reason for this is because townies have a short attention span causing them to create their own imaginative names up when the original gets boring. All types of townie are obnoxious creatures; if you are ever unlucky enough to witness a group of them maintain a running distance. The reason for this is because they believe that they are better than anybody else, and start fights for no reason other than making themselves look 'hard'. Their everyday ensemble is a dark blue pair of Addidas joggers with white stripes leading down them. The latest Nike t-shirt is usually worn underneath a humungous thickly padded Nike coat (with hood). With this coat on they believe to themselves that they are as big as the coat, but when removed are as skinny as the average string bean. Like the dying-out tigers, they 'hunt' in packs, looking for a defenceless victim is the highlight of their day, and beating them to the floor is a bonus. This race of townies is extremely cocky, the cockier they are the less tough they are (all talk, no action). If you are ever on your own when facing a gang of these hooligans be sure not to get stopped, run if you can. If you do get stopped you will most probably get a beating.

This is a myth that has been in our society for a multitude of years now. In A New England Town by Kenneth A. Lockridge, he proves that America was not always democratic. Additionally, he proves that America has not always been “American”, by presenting the town of Dedham in 1635. Lockridge presents this town through the course of over one hundred years, in that time many changes happened as it made its way to a type of democracy.
We all have some experience telling something that is untruthful or just an outright lie. You go looking for a way out of a tense situation when you need it most? Are you afraid of what happens when you are under stress, do you tend to be "creative" with the truth? In the story “The Secret Society of Starving” by author Mim Udovitch, girls that are suffering from eating disorders talk about the secret world of the online pro-anorexia (“pro-ana”) community. It is only there that they can truly express themselves and even motivate other anorexic people. Similarly, in the essay “Can You Tell the Truth in a Small Town?”, Individuals struggle to put their true words down on paper, knowing that if they do the secrets they share could result in them being ostracized from the only community they know, . In both “The Secret Society of Starving” and “Can You Tell the Truth in a Small Town?” The writers explore the different lifestyles of two communities and how they both seem to encourage individuals to hide the truth from the rest of the world, their lies compounding and culminating in their further removal from the community and their loved ones
They are a national gang. Of course, the gang is not as big here as where it originated in California. However, it is considered to be one of the largest gangs in the United States. That I do remember from gang class. Also, to be accepted into the gang, one must take a beating from members. This gang is known for violence and they do not hesitate to use extreme actions when protecting their turf against rivals or the police. They are big with the selling and distribution of crack cocaine, PCP along with other drugs. Other activities would be armed robberies, auto theft, assault and murder (Cruz, 2015).

Gangs are larger in population and tend to be more prevalent in the United States, compared to other countries. In 2008, statistics showed that there were 20,000 active gangs and more than 1 million gang members in the United States (Pacheco, 2010, p. 12). According to Pacheco (2010) there are different types of gangs. Although these gangs are formed for individual purposes, broken up, they can form a multitude of different types of gangs. There are your traditional gangs (Crips, Bloods). Business, profit gangs, which are generated around financial gains. Hate group gangs, which their purpose is to target different ethnic groups, races or homosexuals. Copycat and delinquent social gangs, which seem to be the least relevant. Street gangs, which are prone to target younger individuals, but the actual ages of the gang members vary. Third generation gangs which are known as “terrorist”. Hybrid gangs are new to this generation, they could be considered the “hipster” of gangs. Then there are prison gangs. I’ve finally made it. When you first land here the immediate difference is all around you whizzing around you creating a sense of life. It 's a sense that you rarely have in a small town it 's bigger I can’t quite obtain a hold of it. It moves fast all through the night and during the day. It peaks in all of my senses to create a brand new sense of the life of the city.
