The Negative Essay: Why It Should Not Animal Testing?

In this paper I will support the argument on why animals should not be tested on including history and the arguing the opposing argument. I strongly believe that animals should not be tested on because it is inhumane and unnecessary. In this day and age, animals don’t need to be tested on because we have such advance technology in the medical fields which includes the replication of cells and other human parts. Animals have no voice and cannot speak up for them selves on how they feel or what the problem is. I, along with many other, strongly believe animals of all kinds have souls and a strong purpose for their being here on earth. Mistreating and injecting them with illnesses and chemicals is not what we should do. 95% of animals …show more content…

That the life of a mouse makes no difference to the world, and that a dog or cat would be better helping change the way science than roaming the streets. All experiments have unknown out comes that may be able to be expected but not necessarily accurate. Because some animals share a majority of the same DNA, such as the chimpanzee sharing 97 percent of the DNA of humans, it is rational to believe that some animals should be tested on, but shouldn’t products and medicines made for humans be tested on the human body, not on a creature with a different brain and internal system? Every creature has an internal system that differs from a human. The brain, that sends messages to every part of the body, works differently according to the creature. Testing on any animal could have a different out come due to the way the animal’s system works than a humans’ outcome. Modern science has he ability to clone human cells, using a healthy (or unhealthy) human organism, that is the exact same DNA and can be used in replacement of animals that that share only some of what we are. There are many clinical trials that allow people ages eighteen and up to be compensated for being a part of experiments involving new vaccines, medicines and chemicals. These trials and experiments can be found in many cities and colleges. Animal testing has helped in the past but now we do not need …show more content…

Through out history, animals have been used to test in different branches of science, the environment and products such as cosmetics, and other products. The first thing that comes to mind about animal testing is lipstick on rabbits and monkeys in space. These are both true; On the NASA article about animals in space, they explain that animals were sent into space before humans, believing that humans could not survive long periods of weightlessness. In 1949, the second V-2 flight carried Albert 2, a healthy aeromedical laboratory monkey, attained an altitude of 83 miles. This monkey died on impact. In 1951, a monkey named Yorick and 11 mice participated in Aerobee missile flight of 236,000 feet, Yorick was the first monkey to live through a space flight. In the mid-seventies the use in animal experimentation has fallen by around 50 percent, until mid 1990s when facilities began producing and maintaining genetically modified mouse strains. The numbers a currently decreasing due to novel technologies such as cell-culture systems and micro analytic techniques- more sophisticated model systems. At issue, Animal Experimentation, argues that by 2050 there will not be anymore animal use in
