Professional football players turn their whole life into the sport they love. They wake up every morning thinking about how they could become a better football player every day. All athletes love the game they get to play, but at times the sport does not love them back. Aaron Hernandez was a professional Tight End for the New England Patriots just a few seasons ago. He had been banned from the league and thrown in jail for charges against him for committing murder on a young victim. This story led on even further when he was found dead in his jail cell from committing suicide. They have either been brought up around a football family, or have heard about football talked about at their local Elementary School. Football does wonders for the young children. According to a 2012 Centers for disease Control and Prevention report, 1 in 6 U.S. children are obese (Schwartz). Football is one of the toughest sports to play, and can keep kids in shape all year round. This great sport is also used to create teamwork and discipline for the young stars. If a child misbehaves in practice or is disruptive, they end up paying the consequences at the end of practice when they are their doing laps all day. “It is a sport where you really have to concentrate on your job and be able to trust what your teammates are doing” (Schwartz). There are eleven kids that play on the field at the same time. The game is not all about just one person; football shows young children how to work together as a whole throughout the contest. Every single child dreams of playing in the NFL, and going on to be one of the most famous players in the world. They are setting high goals in their future, which would make them work harder day in and day out, so that they can reach them.
