It was not because of nothing and it was not for nothing, The Civil War was definitely one of the most brutal wars in history. Just like any war, the Civil War had its causes on both sides. Here are a few of what those reasons are and how they relate to the Civil War. The first and biggest cause of the war was slavery. Slavery is the main thing this war was fought over, since freedom is one of the greatest things about America. People began to realize that slavery wasn’t the way to go. For this reason, some states decided to ban slavery, while other states didn’t want to go down that road. This caused major disputes within America. These were disputes that would eventually lead to war. The Cotton Kingdom was a rebellion on the side of slavery.
