In society other people 's actions tend to rub off on us in a bad way, for example someone could have a parent 's that make fun of another person 's disability. Laughing at them because they were born different or got terribly ill that causes them great difficulty to perform an everyday task. Years later their children will become the same person their parent was or even worse have a disabled child and not treat them with the respect they deserve. When battling a physical disability but not having the mental capacity it can feel as if you are trapped within your own body. Her are a few ways that she shows her willpower loving and caring.His mother would often read to him and show him the pictures inside of the book of animals of flowers to try to get a reaction out of him. Even though he could mentally comprehend what his mother was saying and doing Christy could not physically show that he understood. "I drew one side of the letter half the other side and the stick of chalk broke. I was left with a stump. I wanted to fling it away and give up. Then I felt my mother 's hand on my shoulder. I tried one more time but- I “drew the letter "A  (Brown 78). Many people said Christy Brown was hopeless, but his mother kept trying she has so much loving caring and will power. A year later, she got terribly ill. Doctors diagnosed her with acute congestion of the stomach and brain, and they thought she would die but instead lost her ability to hear and see. Due to Helen 's inability to talk and hear, she could be hard to handle and throw tantrums, because of that the family thought she should be institutionalized. Helen 's parents knew that they were unable to take care of her themselves so they decided to contact the Perkins School for the Blind. Anne Sullivan was sent from the school to help Helen communicate with others. Anne Sullivan taught Keller the alphabet to communicate by fingerspelling.Within a few months Keller 's vocabulary had increased to hundreds of words and phrases. Helen’s first word was water. She learned by making the connection between the object and the letters. Sullivan took her out to the water pump and placed her hands under the spout, and spelled out the word on Helen’s hand.
