In the story “The Lady or the Tiger” by Frank R. Stockton, the princess choose to point her lover to the door with the tiger. When the princess lifted her arm she pointed her lover to the tiger because she was evil. The text gives the audience clues to this by saying “...with a soul as fervent and imperious as his own.”(Stockton,2) This is explaining she is as evil as her dad. This would give evidence to why she pointed to the tiger. The princes was very jealous. She wouldn't want her lover to have another lover to have anybody else but her. In the text it says “...but she knew who the lady was.”(stockton, 3) and “...and the princess hated her.” (Stockton,3). This is explaining that the princess knew who was in the door and she hated her.
The princess’ motivation to direct her lover to the door with the tiger would be her inherent greed from her father, putting herself before others, and jealousy of what would happen if he got the lady. We can tell which door she chooses by looking at which door she fears the most. We can see which one does
Women will do almost anything for love, to be loved, or to keep love. That is their mission. When women become jealous, however, the love they want to hold onto disappears, becomes selfishness, and one does not know if it is love anymore. In the short story “The Lady, or the Tiger?” written by Frank R. Stockton, a semi barbaric princess motions which door her lover, the accused man, must open to either receive punishment or a reward. The punishment is to be devoured by a fierce tiger and the reward is to be married to a lovely damsel of the court. This semi barbaric princess loves the man and chooses which door the man deserves to open. Like many women in love, this princess would not dare to let another woman take her lover away from her. Instead, jealousy takes over and the door that opens will emerge a tiger because she will go berserk to see her man happy with another woman, and will prefer to have him eaten by a tiger and await the princess herself on a heavenly earth.

The Lady Or The Tiger? by Frank Stockton Standing in the center of a larger arena was a young youth whose faith was in the balances. Spectators raise steely on all sides directly in front of him awaiting his death. In front of him was two massive doors behind one were life and bliss, behind another lies a man-eating beast. The choice he makes of the two doors solely depending on a Semi-Barbaric princess.
Now let us go back a few days prior to the current events. Upon learning of her father’s decision to place her lover on trial, the young princess approached her father to see if she could sway his decision. Knowing that she was cherished above all else, she thought that she could revert his decision and free her young hero from the clutches of fate. “Father,” said the young princess. “Do you not love me above all else in this world?” she asked. “More than anything,” replied the semi-barbaric king. “Is it then not your wish to preserve my happiness because that is what will give you the greatest joy?’ she then asked in a way that only a daughter can ask a father. “Child,” he replied, “The happiness that you seek is not the happiness that is befitting of one of such high esteem.” “My word is law, and the law states that the blood of the common people and royalty do not mesh well together. The purity of our royal blood line must and will be maintained.” "But fear not my precious beauty,” he said in a tone that hinted with a touch of sarcasm. “Should the young man choose right, his fate will have him spend his days with the most prized of young maidens that I have found.” It was then, that she knew of the one her father had chosen for her lover. The one, who if decided by fate, would occupy her place in the bed that she had shared with the one who possessed her heart. The thought of this inferior creature possessing the one man who understood her true nature infuriated the future queen. How could one of such lowly stature possess something that she could not? This short story is about a kingdom with a barbaric king that finds out that a man is in love with his daughter who is also semi barbaric, the king does not take this well. In this kingdom there is a coliseum where the criminal or person has to choose between two doors, in one door there is a beautiful lady, but in the other there is a tiger! The man that is in love with the king's daughter is put into this coliseum and has to make a huge decision! When he looks up he sees the daughter raise her right arm. He loves this girl and also trusts her so he picks the door she tells him. Now did she want him to choose the door with the lady so he would not die? Or did she tell him to choose the tiger door so she would not be forced to see him with another women? This royal maiden is semi barbaric so she must have signaled for the man to choose tiger.
Jealousy is not a sign of a healthy relationship. But, the narrator appears to want to satisfy his wife. She says: "If you love me, you can do this for me. If you don't love me, okay. But if you had a friend, any friend, and the friend came to visit, I'd make him feel comfortable." (Cathedral) He delivers. He shows her he loves her by making Robert feel happy. Narrator shows his wife that he loves her within the way that she asks him to. The passage advocates that she loves the narrator. She's locution as a result of I love you I'd be nice to your friends.
Death is a nebulous, inescapable force that everyone must confront and learn to deal with in some way. In The Tiger’s Wife, Death is everywhere, in the near constant fighting and dangerous remainders of several wars. For “The Tiger’s Bride”, however, Death remains just outside the scope of the story, brushing along the edges of our awareness but never put plainly before us like the many corpses of Obreht’s novel. Or at least it seems this way until we recognize The Beast as more than just a tiger making play at humanity, that he is instead Death manifested in flesh and fur. I am inferring this because the guard let them in and went along with the lie that the twins were making up to get into the palace. The “Tigers Bride,” by Angela Carter is another widely known version that has to do with the fairytale “The Beauty and The Beast.” This version was written in 1979 and shows ways of femininity through the main character of the story who is narrating. She shows femininity in a way where she does not follow certain values in this time period. The main character exposes herself to the Beast by lifting her skirt and exposes her body in way society would not accept. This shows how women should break free of their beautiful appearance and figure and embrace parts that they never show before. This gives society an image about women in a different perspective. In this film the mother character is absent which shows how she only had a father figure, even though he did not play a good fatherly role.
