TGIF (Thank God it’s Friday) says most of the world as Friday dawns, as the wait for weekend nears its end, as plans for the movies and clubs begin to turn to reality- as avenues for getting engrossed in Dunya exceed and the road to sin becomes easy .In contrast to this worldview, Islam blesses Muslims with Friday as being the most blessed day of the week, providing opportunities for Muslims to engage their time, energy, wealth in worship of Allah and working for their Aakhirah. Some have argued that this day was honored with this name due to Friday Prayer. Ibn Kathir noted in his Tafsir on Surat ul Jumuah “that day of Jumuah is actually called so because it is derived from the word Al-Jam' in Arabic which means to gather, as Muslims gather on this day every week for Salatul Jumuah. Allah’s commands believers in Surat Jumuah, verse 9, “O you who have believed, when [the adhan] is called for the prayer on the day of Jumuah [Friday], then proceed to the remembrance of Allah and leave trade. That is better for you, if you only knew”. Jumuah Salat is obligatory on Muslims except a slave, woman, boy, sick person. Prophet PBUH said: “The five daily prayers and from one Jumuah to the next is an expiation for whatever sins come in between them, so long as one does not commit a major sin.”(Muslim, 233 as cited in Al-Munajjid).The day of Friday therefore sums up the entire journey of humankind, and it serves as a weekly reminder of our beginning, purpose and where we are headed to and provides us with opportunities to do more good and get rewarded

Jewish Historical Origin/ Time of Year The Jewish religious tradition of Rosh Hashanah celebrates the birthday of the world and a time of divine judgment. It is then followed by another holiday, called Yom Kippur, ten days later. These two traditions are called the High Holidays. Rosh Hashanah encapsulates four major and interconnected themes, which are: The Jewish New Year, The Day of Shofar Blowing, The Day of Remembrance, and The Day of Judgment (Layton, 2014).
The Sabbath is designed as a day of rest after working for six days, no work including sport is to be performed on this day. When God created the earth, he set aside the seventh day as a day of rest after all the hard work he had done.
Jubilate Agno is Christopher Smart's poem which illustrates at first glance a testament to his religious obsession and his deteriorated mental state. The other side of this poem shows a man trying to keep his sanity in an insane place. William Stead sees the work as "a spiritual diary of his thoughts, memories, and prayers, during the darkest years of his life" (Stead 17). Jubilate Agno focuses on God with daily occurrences weaving their way into the poem. Smart's work "reflects what was . . . his life work: the praise of God through poetry" (Anderson 54). Smart writes about what he knows from the Bible to animals to the alphabet; most contain God themes [?]. In his tribute to his cat, Jeoffry, Smart shows the cat's particular connection to God, and how Jeoffry is the ideal servant of God. Is an insane Smart writing about an imaginary cat's servitude to God? Or is the intellectual Smart merely paralleling human life to cat life to show how each of us can serve God?
We believe that Jesus Christ died on a Wednesday. We do not believe that Jesus died on Friday. Let's turn to Matthew 12:40, and notice Christ's own prophecy pertaining to His death, burial, and resurrection. "For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth (Matthew 12:40)." Eventually by Muhammad’s death, he had united the entirety of Arabian tribes under Islam. In Islamic tradition there are only two official holidays. The first is called Eid-al Fitr, which is celebrated at the end of a month of fasting. Generally this day Muslims around the world give Zakat, or charity in good faith. The second, Eid-al Adha, is celebrated from the tenth to the fourteenth day of Dhu al-Hijjah, which is the month of pilgrimage to Mecca. Traditionally on these days an animal is killed, it’s meat distributed between friends, family, and the poor.
Shabbat is the celebration of the Sabbath. Jews recognize sunset on Friday into Saturday evening as their Sabbath. The Sabbath is a day of rest that is set apart from other days, a day in which Jews focus themselves on spiritual gratitude and reflection. “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy (Holy)." The word Sabbath is derived from the Hebrew word meaning to rest. On the first day, God created the heavens and the earth. Each day, something new was created which culminated with the sixth day when he created all creatures that live on dry land: this includes the creation of man. Afterwards, God declared his work to be good and decided to rest on the seventh day. This seventh day, known as the Sabbath Day, represents God's day of rest. The reason people celebrated this day was because it represented a covenant between God and his people. According to Jesus, the Sabbath Day was created for our own interest. On this day, we redirect our thoughts and actions towards God. A common misconception
