Over time, people have fabricated an artificial idea of the human family, founded on perfect ideologies with no hardships. While we all enjoy Disney movies and classic fairy tales, the reality is that life, and especially relationships, are difficult at times. This doesn’t mean we should give up on them or treat them as something to avoid, rather we should look to God in these situations and find the beauty within our struggles. Throughout Amoris Laetitia Pope Francis takes a very strong pro-family and pro-life stance. There are many people who would disagree with points that he made in The Joy of Love. One idea in found in chapter two was the welcoming of new life. Pope Francis said, 43, “The negative impact on the social order is clear, as seen in the demographic crisis, in the difficulty of raising children, in a hesitancy to welcome new life.” In other words, throughout the difficulties families face, people become more hesitant to expand their families. People such as Hillary Clinton would claim that families facing difficulties such as these should not necessarily welcome new life into their families. Hilary takes a pro-choice stance on abortion saying, “Unborn children simply do not have any constitutional rights, which would include the right to life.” Clinton is also a big supporter of Planned Parenthood and is not opposed to a woman receiving an abortion throughout any stage of pregnancy [Hillary Clinton, On The issues] …show more content…

Pope Francis presents the challenges in a way that gives hope to all people that the church will stand by them in their times of need. Abuse of women, addiction, and poverty are just a few of the issues that Pope Francis mentions, but through the writing of Amoris Laetitia Pope Francis sends the message that whether a family is struggling with one of these issues or a different one, they can find light in their situation by turning to Jesus and finding comfort in the church. People such as Hillary Clinton could argue the points made in Chapter 2 by saying that families facing difficult times should not expand their family, or should terminate a pregnancy if they see fit, but Pope Francis makes it clear that no family is perfect.
